THE SKY WAS GREY AS THE BOAT TREADED ACROSS THE WATER. The sun long gone by now. Verona sat in the back of the boat, covered up in a jacket. She was leaning against Florence, who had his arm wrapped around her. The chilly wind nipped at her skin. Even though they were miles away from Spain, the pain of what the Royal Mint had brought to her hadn't left. But now, as they got closer to international waters, everything was almost behind her. She would be able to start over, and pretend none of this ever happened. The pain was now over. It was time for a new beginning, far away from Madrid.

Her eyes loomed over everyone else who was in the boat. All her newfound friends with city names, who all helped in doing the impossible. Successfully robbing the Royal Mint of Spain, obtaining a little under one billion euros. She didn't realize how much she was actually going to miss the rest of them.

"I spoke to my father." Verona whispered, low enough so that Florence was the only one who heard her. Besides Berlin, no one else was aware that the conversation even took place, not even the Professor. Florence snapped his head over to her, his eyes widened in shock.

"You what?" His voice was loud, catching everyone else's attention. Verona gave him an exasperated look, putting a hand over his mouth to get him to be quiet. She smiled awkwardly at the group, who all were glancing at them in confusion. When they all looked away, she removed her hand from his mouth. "How?"

"He was in the police tent, and called the phone that was in Berlin's office." She informed him, letting out a sigh.

"What did he say?" He questioned curiously, tilting his head to the side.

"He made a deal with the police. If I helped the police catch all of you and tell them that Berlin kidnapped me and forced me to do the heist, I wouldn't serve any prison time. I would just go home like nothing happened." She explained, and began messing with the ends of her ponytail. Florence took a second to process the information, a silence forming between them.

"Did you think about it?" His question caught her off guard, a puzzled look taking over her features. He caught on to this, and decided to be more specific. "Did you think about his offer?"

"The last thing I would want is to go home." Verona shook her head, eyes trained on the ground. "And I would never betray my friends." Florence's face seemed to falter at the word 'friend' but quickly nodded his head in understanding. "He actually helped us."

"How?" Florence's eyebrows scrunched up, not knowing why the man would have willingly assisted them in any way.

"He warned me about the police coming in." She admitted to him, and his facial expression shifted to one of confusion. "It doesn't make up for the other shit he did, but who knows what would've happened if the police caught us by surprise. We might've gotten arrested, even killed."
