VERONA WANTED ANSWERS. The way Florence had been acting those past two weeks made her feel like there was something he wasn't telling her. Something that may have happened back at the warehouse. She remembered how Alvarez seemed choked up every time he mentioned her father that day after she made a senseless decision. The way he looked lost when she mentioned that she wasn't leaving the island with him-- almost like he had nothing to go back to without her. It was all starting to add up in her mind. They were hiding something, and she was determined to find out what.

She woke up extra early that morning, making the decision to sneak into the main part of town while everyone was still sleeping. If something bad happened to Emiliano Vasquez, the news in Spain would definitely be talking about it. She carefully got out of bed, making sure not to wake Florence. It didn't take her long to get ready, wanting to be out of there as soon as possible.

The trip to town took longer than she anticipated, knowing she needed to be back at the house before everyone woke up. She didn't have the energy to deal with their questions when she got back.

After paying some guy off to use his computer, she typed up her father's name and a variety of links popped up. She clicked on the first link, her eyes scanning the words on the screen.

"Emiliano Vasquez is currently in a coma after an explosion in Aruba. We aren't sure what exactly he was doing there, but it apparently might be linked to his daughter, Cayetana Vasquez, who was identified as one of the robbers in the Royal Mint of Spain robbery a few years ago. Experts are saying that it will be a miracle if he survives.

Verona felt her chest beginning to tighten, tears starting to cloud her vision. If her father died, it would be all her fault. She was the one who caused the explosion. That blood would be on her hands. She let emotion cloud her judgement, something she had been told never to do since childhood. Emotion can drive you to do reckless things. Love can make you stupid, and she fell victim to that.

"Emiliano Vasquez is also under criminal investigation after a folder was found in a shack linked to his daughter, Cayetana Vasquez. The folder held incriminating evidence that we have not been informed of as of right now.

Even if he lived, he would most likely be spending the rest of his life behind bars. Maybe he deserved it. His illegal actions had racked up over the span of his life; had been the cause of deaths, violence, and destruction. Or maybe she should be relieved that she would never have to worry about him again. But at the end of the day, he was still her father. Deep down she wanted to believe he was good or that everything he did was for a valid reason.
