FRIDAY, 6:25 PM,
EIGHT HOURS INTO HEIST

THEY WERE FRESH INTO THE HEIST, AND THE NUMBER ONE RULE HAD ALREADY BEEN BROKEN. The group was tense with anticipation, nervous for what was about to happen next. Every single one of them was on edge, some more than others. Tokyo was balled up in a corner, knees pressed against her chest, trying to block out the harsh words Denver and Florence were both throwing at her. Verona stood against one of the walls, watching as Nairobi helped Rio clean up his head wound. Luckily, the bullet had only grazed the side of his head. Florence was pacing around the room, finding it hard to sit still. His fists were balled up at his sides, jaw clenched in anger.

"Explain to me what the fuck that was? Are you out of your mind? You shot a cop!" Denver scolded Tokyo, who hadn't muttered a word since it went down.

"Calm down." Tokyo spoke up, lifting her head up. "The fucking cop came out of no where and started shooting. What would you have done?" She raised her eyebrows in a questioning manner at Denver.

"I don't give a shit! Fuck this!" Denver yelled, storming to the other side of the room. Verona let out a deep sigh, raking a hand through her blonde hair. She watched as Nairobi angrily threw down the cloth she had been cleaning Rio's wound with, and walked over to where Tokyo was sitting.

"You know what you should've done back there? Followed the damn plan! We've been over this four-hundred million times!" Nairobi voiced her frustration, and began pacing around the room. "Didn't we agree not to shoot anyone?"

Rio's anxious gaze was on Tokyo, his foot tapping nervously against the ground. "I blacked out from the impact-" He spoke up to defend his girlfriend, but was cut off by raging Denver.

"Shut up!" Denver fumed in his face, palms slamming harshly against the table, causing the younger boy to flinch. "The four of us covered you, but we shot at the ground! Not right at the damn cops!" The tension only seemed to rise when the door of the room opened, bringing everyone's attention to Berlin, who stepped into the area. Everyone was silent, waiting for what he was going to say. Verona glanced over at Florence, who had his eyes trained at the ground.

"They're taking the injured cops away." Berlin informed the six of them, and looked towards Rio. "Have you connected the phones yet, Rio?" Rio pulled out a red landline phone, and connected it to some wires. "Drop any radio or wireless signal." One-by-one, everyone handed Berlin their earpieces, that they were now not going to use because they could be intercepted. "We're switching to analog." Berlin dropped the earpieces into the fish tank, watching as they sank to the bottom. "Call the Professor." He ordered, to which Rio obliged. The group waited a few moments, until he finally answered the call.
