First thing that I notice when I wake up is the weird position my neck is in, and next is the pain that comes with it. Oh man this hurts a lot!
My back is pressed against the rocky wall, my side is resting on my bag and my head is... floating, so that puts my neck in a really bad angle.
After I feel the pain that is shooting in my body next thing I realize is the cold that it's inside this cave, the icy temperature here is to chill the bones, usually I would have Nathan sleeping next to me and warming either my side, my back or my front, but since I fell asleep as soon as he left to see the others I don't know if he slept with me and he's already awake or if he slept somewhere else.
I screw my eyes tighter as a result of me trying to move my body. How I ended up in this position is beyond me.
"We should do something about it." I hear someone whispering.
"What do you mean?" Another voice says, and I furrow my brows. I just woke up so I can't really detect who the voices belong to.
"We're going to have problems with it, I mean we're already having. You saw it".
I try to clear the fog that it's still on my mind. What are they talking about? And who are they?
"Yeah that wasn't pleasant to the eye."
"They can't know we did it." With much effort I manage to move my neck and try to ignore the pain, my ears now directed to the place this two figures are talking. I open one eye and try to look around, but I don't see who is talking.
I see Beth, Sarah and Lucy but Nathan isn't by my side and there isn't a sign of Ed and Dylan either.
"They'll figure it out eventually."
"But they can't... They'll jump on our throats." The first voice says and it's a male. They're are away from me, making it difficult to hear, but their words echo in the cave no matter how low they whisper.
"We'll explain our motives for doing that." The second voice says, and I also notice that it's a male, my brain is still trying to function but I'm almost sure that I've heard those voices before.
"They won't understand the nature of our actions, Dylan." Han?
When I hear the name I immediately forget about the pain that I'm feeling, my cold and almost unmoving body and focus on them, my eyes wide as oranges. Dylan? What is he talking about? Is that Ed with him? I make and push my brain to work faster. Needing it to work and process their conversation as quickly as possible.
"We'll make them understand." Dylan says in a low voice.
"What do you plan to do, han? Do you plan on 'making them understand' the way we made the others understand?" Ed hisses at Dylan or so it seems, there is obviously poison in his voice and anger is firmly implanted in his words, but why?
"The others were exceptions."
"Don't joke with me Dylan, we did what we did to survive. I know that, but they won't. They won't give a fuck about us and our reasons, they'll only care about what we did." I see a movement on my right and I'm about to pretend that I'm sleeping when I realize that it's only shadows, their shadows. They're standing at the entrance and the daylight is reflecting their shade on the rocky wall.
"Look... we'll have to find a solution for our problem but for now let's keep it this way. A secret. We're the only ones that know and the others have no idea."
"Are you sure that the others don't?"
"They don't. Lucy is too distant since she realized that we're stuck in here, Sarah is smart but not enough, Beth well... she is blonde but not stupid, yet I don't think she's capable of putting the pieces together without some information and that's something she doesn't have. Kate is the one that I'm worried about." I place my hand over my mouth when I'm about to gasp, my eyes never leaving their shade on the dark wall. The mention of my name made my heart skip a beat.
