"Seth..it's Nina," Emy mumbled in terror.

"I think...she is dead," Seth said, observing her.

Just then, Kate arrived from somewhere.

"What happened, Emy?" she queried.

"Nina has been murdered. Kate, I am scared. Let's just go. I don't wanna see her like this." Emy said, gasping for breath.

"Kate, just take her. I guess she freaking out." Seth ordered, giving a doubtful glance at Kate.

"Fine," she replied and held her.

They went to their room as soon as possible. Emy was really sick.

"Kate, the murderer was there. He was among us. He killed her. Kate.. I am scared." She blurted in fear.

Kate hugged her tight.

"Emy, don't worry. Everything will be fine." She assured.

When Emy woke up the next day, she found herself alone in the room. A note beside her drew her attention. She took it and read.

" Emy, I won't be coming to school today. I have to meet Max. See u in the evening." It said.

Emy went to school alone that day. While walking towards her locker she saw Seth.

"Hey, Emy." He greeted.

"Hey, Seth." She greeted back.

"How are you feeling now?"

"I am not ok. I can't take that sight away from my mind." She shook her head in disgust.

"Actually, I heard something about it." He looked at her.

"What is it?" She asked suddenly.

"The police say there was a bite mark on her neck. Someone drank her blood." He explained.

"What?" She stared at him, unbelievingly.

"Yeah, the police got the CCTV  footage from a nearby house. She was talking to someone outside. Then he bent towards her as if he was gonna kiss her. But he just bit her shoulder and drank her blood." Seth explained.

"Seth, how can a person drink another person's blood? No human being would do that." Emy said, terrified.

"That's it. No human would do that." He said, emphasizing the word human.

"What are you saying?" She observed him.

"The murderer wasn't a human. He/she was a vampire." He replied.

"Vampire? What is that?" She was puzzled.

"They are creatures which look like humans. They feed on blood." He explained.

"Oh my God. I have never heard about such a thing until now." She gazed at him.

"Really?" He asked, baffled.

"Yeah"

"There are so many legends about them. They existed a long time ago. Some of them were killed. Some escaped from their killers. I think the escaped ones have returned." He said.

"Who killed them?" She asked.

"There are other creatures that can kill vampires. They are known as werewolves." He answered.

"Do they harm us?" Emy queried.

"No. They protect humans from vampires. They are actually human beings who have werewolf's genes within their body. They have an ability to change into wolves, actually big wolves." He explained.

"How do you know about all these?" She questioned.

"I have read in books." He replied.

"Oh"

"But the fact that Nina was killed by a vampire is just a doubt," Seth said.

"I hope that it won't be something like that." Emy sighed.

"Where is Kate?" He asked after a short silence.

"She didn't come today. She went to meet one of her friends." Emy replied.

"OK. See you later then." He waved at her.

"OK. Bye." She waved back.

After school, she went to her room as usual. But Kate was not there. She opened the common cupboard for finding one of her books. As she was searching, something fell down, which was the greatest shock of her life.
