Kate stared at him in silence. She was really annoyed. She had a lot of things in mind and was never interested in a romance.

Seth waited for an answer. His heart was beating fast against his ribs. He felt like it would pop out of his chest at any minute.

"Seth,we are good friends. I would like  us to remain this way."she replied

"Oh,okay. But if you ever change your mind,don't hesitate to let me know. I will be waiting for you."he said and walked away in dismay.

Just then he saw James standing in front of him folding his hands and smirking.

"Lil brother, I knew this would end up like this. I told you  several times that she is a vampire and we are meant to kill them and not supposed to fall in love with them." James stated.

"This is none of your business, James." Seth snapped.

"Of course,it is."he grimaced.

Seth rolled his eyes and sighed.

"Just leave me alone."Seth replied,fazed and walked away.

Kate was surprised by Seth's sudden confession. She always thought that he had a thing for Emy but never did she thought that he was attracted to her. She was sad for turning him down but she knew that it was dangerous for him to fall in love with a vampire.

Seth was lost in thoughts. The engravement was pulling him more towards her. He was not able to help himself. He really did wanted to check out if he could remove the engravement. But he was damn sure that James would kill her the moment he does that.

That evening when Kate got back to their room,she told Emy about Seth's confession. Emy felt sad for Seth. She tried her best to convince Kate,how sincere his love was but her attempts were futile.

Next morning. Emy heard a knock on the door. She knew it was the newspaper. She opened the door and got the newspaper then settling herself on the bed. She turned the pages and took a quick glance at the headlines. The number of murders were increasing day by day. She examined the paper cautiously to check out the names of the victims. Suddenly one of the names made her gasp in fright.

"Kate?" She yelled.

Kate rushed to her side. Emy pointed  towards the newspaper. Kate glanced at the names and sat on the bed in shock. Tears streamed down her eyes.

"Miss Nelson."Kate gasped.

Miss Nelson was her biology teacher. She was really fond of her. It really broke her heart when she realised that Jacob took her life.

Kate dialed Max's number and called her.  Within no time Max reached their room.

Kate explained everything to her and decided that they should kill Jacob as soon as possible. Kate opened her cupboard and searched everywhere finally coming with a pendant.

"Emy, wear this always. Ok?" Kate ordered.

"Is this the vervain pendant?" Emy asked.

"Yes. The same thing Max handed me years ago." Kate replied.

Max smiled realising that her friend kept it safe all those years.

"We need to find him soon and finish him. So I am going with her. I won't be back until I find him. Be safe and carry this with you always." Kate said pointing towards the pendant.

"Okay. I will. Both of you,please take care of yourselves too." Emy requested to both of them.

They nodded in agreement and went out. Emy got ready for school and walked. She met James in the middle of her journey.
