Chapter:33

She opened her eyes suddenly and realised that all those she saw was a mere dream. But she was indeed in a strange place which was not empty. There were some machines and furniture piled up in a corner. It looked like a factory. She could feel the pain in the neck and the burning sensation in her body due to the vervain inside her system.

"Look who's awake."She heard a voice. She knew that voice pretty well.

"What do you want Jacob?"she demanded

"What else? You"he sneered.

She felt like her dream becoming a reality. Her heart started to beat faster. Fear embraced her.

"I compelled these boys to inject you vervain."he said grinning and pointing at the boys who were staring at her.

"What do you get from killing me?"she questioned.

"Nothing but joy and satisfaction in destroying my enemy."he answered calmly.

"So, you are gonna kill me for joy and satisfaction."Kate grinned.

"What's with the attitude?"he questioned in confusion

"Nothing. I am not afraid of death, Jacob. I don't want this vampire life. So it will really be appreciated if you just kill me. Because I can find peace and make my life bright."she said twitching her lips into an upward curve.

"What if death brings you pain and darkness instead of peace and brightness?"he enquired.

"Jacob, I am so damn sure that I can manage the pain of death. I have been dealing with it all these time. And about darkness...I am the empress of darkness. Those darkness can never exceed above me."she snapped.

"Hmm"he hummed.

Kate looked at him in a questioning manner to know if he wanted to ask her any more questions.

"I know you are really strong Katherine. But your strength is nothing compared to mine."he paused.

"You are weak in front of me. I still see the fragile girl in you who wept in front of me begging for her life centuries ago." He sneered.

Kate's memory flashed back to the last day of her human life. She remembered how Jacob turned her and killed her parents. She remembered the last words he said to her.

'I promise you an eternity of misery'.

Her mind suddenly filled with rage. She wanted to kill him for what he did to her family and her. She knew it was too late. But she wanted to try her luck.

Jacob noticed the change in  expressions on her face. He understood that she was planning something. He stood cautious and prepared for what was about to come through his way.

Kate screamed in frustration and ran to the door to escape from there. She opened the door to run out of there but she hollered in agony when the sun rays hit her. She suddenly closed the door and memorised the dream she saw earlier.

"My ring"she remembered herself and checked her hand. It wasn't there. She realised that her mere dream was turning into a reality.

"Looking for this?"asked Jacob sarcastically.

She swallowed the lump in her throat and walked to him.

"Give it back."she demanded.

"And why would I listen to you?"he mocked.

"Give it back I said."she roared.

Her face changed into the vampiric form. Her eyes were red and the veins underneath them swelled up. Her fangs elongated. She pushed him with all the powers she possessed and rushed near the furniture that were piled up at the corner. She broke one of the legs of the chair that laid there and charged towards Jacob. But to her amazement, he caught the wooden stake before she could do anything with it and kicked her down. She fell to the floor and he pounced upon her.

"Katherine,you keep irritating me. And the perfect time has come for your end. Your death will soon embrace you."he snarled.

"Kill me, Jacob. But my death is not the key to your freedom. Max is out there to take your life and save the human lives you are about to take. She would never remain silent when she comes to know that you killed me. So, I am not at all afraid of death. I dare to you to kill me."she snapped back.

The rage in Jacob's mind exploded and he dug the stake right into Kate's chest. She gasped in pain. Tears streamed down her cheeks indicating the pain she was suffering. But she laid there trying hard not to express the pain she was undergoing. She clenched her fists and pressed her lips together not to reveal it. She wanted to prove that she was strong enough to embrace death, in front Jacob. She saw her skin turning grey and the nerves beneath her skin bulging up. Soon Jacob found her taking her breath.

"Burn her body." Jacob ordered to the boys who were compelled by him.

They nodded in agreement.
