Chapter:31

That day during the lunch break, Jacob was alone in his class. He was happily enjoying his blood bag hoping no one would barge in. But a knock on the door ruined all his expectations. He quickly hid his blood bag and answered,

"Come in."

Kate opened the door and entered with a bright smile.

"Hello there Jacob Livingstone"Kate greeted.

"Hello love. It's a pleasure to meet you after centuries." Jacob replied

Kate pulled a chair and sat opposite to his table crossing her leg. Jacob grinned at her confidence.

"I never saw you after your transformation. You have learnt quite well to cop up with this new atmosphere." Jacob said

"Of course, I have. Like you said,it's been centuries. "She replied.

He grimaced staring into her eyes.

"So what brings you here?" He asked.

"That's something I should be asking you. Why are you here, Jacob?"Kate asked him with a stern expression.

Jacob laughed.

"Do I need to get your permission to come here,love?"asked Jacob

"Cut it out Jacob. Let me be clear with this. If you dare to lay a hand on anyone precious to me, I am gonna rip that head out of your body and burn it to ashes." She roared.

"Really,love? Can you do that? " He smirked.

Kate got up from her chair and charged towards Jacob. She pushed him out of his chair and pounced upon him. Her eyes were flaring with rage.

Suddenly he pushed her off her body and pinned her to the wall.

"What made you think that you are stronger than me?" Jacob snarled.

Kate choked and tried hard to escape from his hold.

"Let me go." She said struggling.

"No way,love." He smirked.

Just then the bell rang for next class. He knew the students would come soon. So he let her go. She took deep breaths to calm down herself.

"This is not the end. I gave you a second chance centuries ago. But you still haven't changed. That means you don't deserve this chance."he sneered.

Kate ran outside with her vampire speed yo escape from him. She understood that he was much stronger than her. While walking towards her locker,she met James.

"Hey"she greeted.

"Hey. It's been a long time since we talked"he said.

Kate nodded smiling.

"I have something to tell you." James said

Kate stared at him in a questioning manner.

"It's about Seth.". James muttered.

"What is it?"she asked annoyed.

"I have known him for a long time, Katherine. I have never seen him obsessed over anyone like this." James replied

"How do you know that he is obsessed about me?"she questioned.

"He always talks about you. He praises about your beauty. He won't shut his mouth when he starts talking about you. " James explained

Kate blushed. She felt a deep happiness in her mind. Her heart started beating faster.

"He was devastated when you rejected him the other day. He was crying all night. So I am damn sure that his love for you is true. Katherine, do consider it. It's my request. I have known him since childhood. I know his mind really well."he said

"I will think about it."she replied

That's when she realised something odd about him. He looked a bit pale.

"Are you sick?"she asked him

"Nope."he replied.

"Then, why are you so pale?"she queried

"You are pale too"he stated

Kate rolled her eyes. She had a feeling that something was not right with him. A change was highlighting in him.

"Okay then, I have got class. See you later."she said.

"Okay. Bye"he said back.

She walked away in thoughts. She couldn't figure what was wrong in him. But she was sure that something wasn't right. She also thought about what he said regarding Seth. Her heart started to beat fast when she thought about him. A smile formed on her face when his face came to her mind.

"No, Kate. We have a lot of things on our mind. And romance is certainly not one among them."she thought to herself.

She walked until she met Leydah. Sera was along with her.

"Oh my God, Kate!!! We were looking for you."Leydah shrieked

"What happened?" asked Kate puzzled

"You won't believe what we say. But it's true."Sera said

"Girls,just tell me what's it."Kate replied annoyed.

"James is not what we see. He is not a human being."Leydah disclosed.
