Chapter:41

"Sera?" They both gasped in unison.

Sera laid there every drop of her blood drained from her body. Her eyes were wide open in shock although it couldn't see anything. Her body was ice cold and her heart was motionless.

Seth sniffed her.

"She's dead." He said

They both woke up the next day hearing the chirping of birds and sunlight hitting their naked bodies. Sera's lifeless body was still there.

"What should we do?" asked Seth

"Let's inform this to our father. After all he is the alpha. He must take the decision ." James replied.

They both got dressed and rushed to their father to inform the matter. Albert was taken back as he heard this awful news. He went along with his boys to take a look at the body.

"Boys,don't utter a word about this to anyone. You don't know anything about this. Ok?"asked Albert.

Seth nodded in agreement while James questioned back,

"Are you demanding us to leave her like this?"

"The other members will inform this to the police. I don't want my sons' to get in trouble." He answered with power reverberating in his words.

James didn't say anything back. He knew his father would never listen to anyone. He was a stubborn person who did things according to his desire. He never considered anyone's opinions,even his sons'. Seth never questioned him back or did anything against his wills while James was the total opposite. James couldn't agree with every suggestion his father proposed. And because of that, Seth was Albert's favorite.

They both left from the place and got ready for school. Even though his father ordered him not to utter a word about the incident to anyone, he made up his mind to tell Emy. He thought that Emy deserved to know the truth as she was her best friend.

As soon as James reached school,he went to meet Emy. She was with her friends Leydah, Mike and Christen. James noticed   their faces and sensed that something was wrong. Emy ran to James as soon as she saw him.

"James, Sera is missing." She began to explain.

"Last night she was in Christen's house and went back alone. But she haven't return to her home or answered her phone. We are all worried."

"Emy, I need to talk with you in private." James said after hearing her out.

They went outside and sat on the bench at the ground.

"What's it, James?"asked Emy.

James let out a deep sigh and said,

"I need you to be strong and keep this news a secret."

"James, just tell me. "replied Emy,annoyed .

"Sera is dead." James revealed.

Emy covered her mouth in shock.

"What?" She asked unbelievingly.

James nodded with pain. He knew how much that news would hurt Emy. Tears exploded out of Emy's eyes.

"James, I can't believe this. I can't take this. I can't...I can't..-" she burst into tears before she could complete.

James pulled her into a hug and patted her shoulder to console her. Tears escaped from his eyes too.

"How did this happen?" She asked as she pulled away from the hug.

James explained everything that happened the previous night.

"Was it Jacob?"she asked after hearing him out.

"That's the thing. We didn't see anyone or smelled their scent. I know that blood sucker's smell really well. So I don't think its him." James replied

"Kate was with me. And I am one hundred percent sure that Max would never do that."Emy said.

"No, I don't doubt them either. I know them very well now."

"Are you trying to imply that another vampire is in the city?" Emy asked worried.

"I think so."James replied.

Seth was walking towards his locker as he reached the school. He took the necessary books he needed and closed the door of the locker. He was startled as he saw Kate standing beside him.

"Kate,you scared the hell out of me." Seth said.

Kate chuckled which made Seth smile.

"Well, I have decided." Kate said casually.

"Decided what?"asked Seth

"About me being your girlfriend."she replied.

Seth was a little nervous for the answer but still he wanted to know that.

"So, what have you decided?" He asked.

"Yes."she said with a grimace.

"Really?" Seth asked unbelievingly.

"Hmm" Kate hummed.

Seth lifted her holding her waist and swung her in the air with rejoice.

"Oh my God! I can't believe this. Am I still in my sleep?"he said sarcastically.

Kate pinned him to the wall and kissed him. He felt his body burning. He pulled her closer to him and kissed back with the same passion. Both of them felt a unique feeling which they never had experienced. Seth knew that it was because they both belonged to two different species. On the other hand, Kate was puzzled. Yet she didn't give too much thoughts to it.

"I love you, Seth." She confessed.

"I love you too." He replied.

Emy's condition was pathetic. She couldn't accept the fact that her best friend was no more. She reminisced the old memories they had together. She couldn't control the tears that rolled down her cheeks. James tried his best to console her but he failed. Emy went back to her friends but was silent the whole time.

Kate never came to know about all these issues that were taking place. She was puzzled when she saw Emy and the rest of the friends. Emy's face was red and her eyes were puffy. Kate understood that she had been crying and rushed to her to enquire about it.

Emy informed her that Sera was missing and gave her further explanations regarding the matter.

"Why didn't you tell me this before?" Kate asked after Emy informed her everything.

"I came to know about this after I  reached school." She answered.

"Did you inform the police?" Kate asked Christen

"Yeah. I  have informed the police." Christen replied.

Just then Christen's phone rang and he attended it. Everyone staring at him in shock as he dropped the phone down.

"They have found her dead body." He said tears streaming down his eyes.
