Chapter:28

Emy walked away leaving James alone. She knew that she would be shattered if James was absent in her life. But she needed him to know what pain is.  The pain of being rejected.

James couldn't shut down his emotions. He wept miserably covering his face with his hands. Just then he felt someone's hand on his shoulder. He looked up and saw Seth with a sympathetic look. He hugged him tight sobbing loud.

"I am so sorry brother. Everything was my mistake. I am responsible for your sadness. And hers." James wept.

Seth understood what happened. His mind was connected to his family's. So he could read his brother's mind very well.

"It's fine brother. Everything will be alright. I will talk to her." Seth assured him.

That day was miserable for Emy. She cried her heart out in pain. She never wanted to part from James. She loved him more than anything else. But the fact that he tried to kill her best friend and he compelled her to do things he wanted was more than she could handle. The thought of betrayal dominated  the love in her mind. She informed Kate about Jacob through phone but never mentioned about the werewolf or hybrid thing. She knew Seth would never want Kate to know that he is a werewolf.

James too had a hard day. He couldn't think of being abandoned again. She was his light of hope. His strength. His happiness. He knew he was nothing without Emy by his side. He couldn't sleep. Whenever he tried to sleep, Emy flashed inside his head. He wept in pain until he was embraced by sleep.

Next day James waited at the hallway for Emy. He wanted to apologize to her for everything. When Emy came across him, she walked away without giving the slightest glance.

"Emy! Don't avoid me like this. Talk to me. Slap me. Kill me. Do anything you wish. Please talk to me. I need you."he pleaded.

"James, I made myself clear yesterday itself. I don't want to be with you anymore. You compelled me to make things comfortable for you. You played with my mind. "She paused.

"And I don't think I like you. You might have compelled me to like you too. Who knows what you had done to me?"she snapped.

James stared at her in shock.

"I never compelled you to like me Emy. I promise. Believe me. I never did that. "He replied tears streaming down his face.

Emy felt a sudden spasm in her chest. It pained when she saw him crying.

"No Emy. Don't fall for his drama. He might be acting. He might be playing with your mind. Don't be weak."she told herself.

"James, stop it. I won't fall for it. It's too late. I don't need you anymore. And I hate you."she spat and walked away.

That was the last thing James wanted to hear. He felt his heart shattering into a million pieces.  He felt coldness embracing him. He knew what was happening to him. He was dying from a broken heart. Tears rolled down his cheeks like the never ending flow of a river. He walked out of the school.

Seth felt all the feelings his brother was feeling as their minds were linked. Just then he got a call. It was his father.

-"Hello Dad?"

"Son,whats wrong? "

-"Don't worry Dad.  I will take care of James."

"Be careful,Seth. He will die if this goes on. Better find the girl who broke his heart and convince her to make things right. Or else we will lose him."

-"I will Dad. Let me go fast and do it. Call you later." Seth replied and hung up the call.

He searched everywhere for Emy finally finding her at the bench on the ground.

"Emy!!!!"he called out.

She looked over to the direction of the voice. She stood up from there when she realised that it was Seth. But he ran to her and yanked her hand to make her stop.

"Leave me, Seth."she yelled.

" Not until you come with me."he yelled back

"Who are you to command me? I have got enough from your brother. Playing with my mind and forcing me to do things he want. I am not your puppet. I am done with him. I don't need him anymore. So just go. "She retorted,rage reverberating in every word.

"Emy, he got more than any person can ever bear in his entire life. His mother abandoned him and left with another guy to live her life. And then his stepmother whom he loved to the stars left him . And now you, whom he valued more than his life is abandoning him. You broke his heart. "
He paused and continued,

"Emy, his situations made him do the wrong things. It wasn't done intentionally. He was trying to protect this place and the people from a ravenous vampire . But he was wrong about Kate. When he realised that he was so sorry and wanted to make things right. He also wanted to protect me from her. That's why he used you. But when he saw how sad you were he couldn't do anything other than be with you forever and make you happy. He could have compelled you and erased everything from your mind. He didn't wanna play with your mind anymore. So he was there with you in your sadness and became a reason for your happiness. This is the extreme of what a person could do. I swear I can never love you the way he can. " Seth let out everything in his mind.

Emy stood there in silence. Her emotions burst out drenching her face in tears.

"I am sorry Seth. I never thought being in his shoes. I hurt his feelings more than he did to me."she wept sobbing loud .

"Emy, I need you to come with me and talk with him. He is dying from a broken heart." Seth convinced her.

"He what?"she asked shocked.

"Come with me. We should hurry." he said and held her hand.

They ran out of the school. They ran too far but weren't able to make up to their destination.

"Seth we won't make it in time."Emy said panting.

"Turn. Now."she yelled trying to catch her breath.

Seth turned into his werewolf form. She got on top of him and clutched his body tight to avoid falling down. He ran with his werewolf speed. After some time of travelling, they reached where James was lying down. Emy ran to him. He was unconscious. His  body was cold.

"James, I am here. Wake up."she yelled and shook him trying to wake him up.

Seth shifted into his human form and shook him too.

"Brother, wake up. She came back for you. "He yelled.

"I am so sorry James. Wake up please."she muttered

James suddenly came back to his senses. He was still cold and his eyes were closed.

"I am sorry Emy. I know I am responsible for all the mess that took place. I ruined your life as well as my brother's. I am so sorry. Please forgive me."he wept

"No James, I am the one who should be forgiven. I never thought how it was for you. I am a selfish bitch. I am so sorry James. Please look at me. I need you. I can't live without you. James, I love you. Please . Look at me."she wept uncontrollably.

But James never opened his eyes. He stopped talking. His breath stopped. His heartbeat came to an end. His body was ice cold. He was dead.
