When I opened my eyes, I saw Max sitting beside me. It was a new beginning for me. My eyesight was far better than before. I could see everything perfectly.

"Oh Kate, you are awake!." Max exclaimed.

"Where am I?" I asked, letting my eyes wander the beauty of my surroundings.

"Don't worry. You are safe now.," She answered my question.

"What happened to me, Max?"

"I will answer every question of your. But before that, you need to feed."

"Oh yeah, I am a monster now. A blood sucking demon. "

" I will help you out in this. Don't worry."

She took me to a place which seemed to be a mini jungle. My hearing was also many times better than when I was human. I heard many heart beats. I kept my palm on my chest. No, there was no heartbeat anymore. It symbolised that I was dead. There was a river which streamed silently. I dipped my hands into it to feel the cold nature of water. But it felt warmer. 'Oh yeah, I'm a vampire. My blood has froze inside my veins. I am cold-blooded now',i thought. I took a handful of water to drink. But as soon  as water entered my system, I felt a disgusting taste. My taste buds modified on its own to make me survive on only blood. I realized I can't enjoy human foods from then.

Max lead me into the jungle. I didn't know which one to choose. The first life that came across me was an antelope. I felt it's heartbeat,ba-dum  ba-dum. The veins were crystal clear to me. Suddenly i felt the piercing pain in my gums. My fangs thrusted out. Within a fraction of seconds, I pounced on it. I immersed my fangs into its veins. It cried out for help. But my inhuman mind never felt pathetic. I only wanted to satisfy my thirst. I drained it. Watching the lifeless,cold body of that antelope i understood the demonic power I possessed.

After that Max took me to a house. She knocked the door and we waited patiently.

"Max,why are we here?" I asked.

"You need protection from sun. So I have asked her to make a daylight ring for you."

I realised that in spite of the powers i received,i have become the enemy of the nature. The sun hates me.

Suddenly her friend who was also a witch opened the door. We went inside. I took a look at everything that was placed there. It was creepy. A real witch house. So many herbs were placed in many glass bottles. And I heard the sound of bubbles breaking,from where a horrible smell spread the air.

"Is it some kind of potion?" I asked pointing my finger to the vessel from which the bubble breaking sound came.

"Yes." She answered.

Max and I sat on a chair and waited for her to bring my ring. After a few minutes, she brought it. I wore it. To be frank, it looked beautiful. I was happy to have that new companion.

We left from there after Max had a long talk with her witch friend, Clementine. I could hear her heartbeat too and I envied her.

"Max, we need to go back." I said.

"Go back where?" She asked back.

"To Jake's place. I need to save Anna from him as soon as possible. Also I need to convince my parents about that monster and what he had done to me." I said

"It's time you need to know something." Max said letting out a  sigh.
