The sight was one for the books. Villain and child, plummeting down through the air to the cold sidewalk. There were shrieks from Sabina and Brant Redfrot and cries from the spectating citizens of Twinford. To the horror of everyone watching, it was clearly a struggle. Both people throwing punches at each other and administering any last bit of pain they could as they fell. It was when they were a third of the way down that the girl stopped falling and began to float. Out of the back of her dress appeared a jet pack. A gentle and apologetic smile appeared on Ruby's face. Count Von Viscount grew extremely distressed. He clung onto Ruby and tried to save himself. When they were about sixty feet above the ground Ruby finally managed to shake him off. As he fell to the ground, Ruby let out a sigh. It was finally over. She had won.
The Count landed badly, breaking his arm and he hit the ground. Blacker, SJ and Froghorn pulled out guns and aimed at him. Ruby landed gracefully next to him and smiled down at her fallen enemy. He grimaced at her as he slowly looked up.
"It's over. You're gonna rot in jail for the rest of your life Victor for what you did to Baker and Kekoa. Not to mention Lopez, hurting Hitch and LB, kidnapping Clance and stabbing me," Ruby half laughed. She was so relieved that the battle was finally over.
"I'm so done with fighting you. I'm so over all the pain you've caused. I will never stop making sure you are defeated. You're gonna decay in a cell until you are nothing but dust. I loathe you. I've never hated anyone more and I am so glad this is over," her eyes were burning. Ruby didn't know whether to cry, scream or laugh.
"You'll never be rid of me, Ms Redfort. You will never win," he growled.
"She already has," came LB's voice from behind them. For a simple second, Ruby turned to face her. Count Von Viscount took his opportunity. He reached into his pocket to pull out his revolver. Hitch jumped down from the window ledge and kicked the gun out of his hand, knocking The Count to the floor. A gasp came from the crowd of Twinfordites as the Redfort's household manager pinned the supervillain to the ground. The Count roared with anger as Hitch held him down.
"You took Baker, Lopez and Kekoa. Three of my closest friends. You will never take Ruby from me. I told you that over the phone. Next time, get your head out of your ass and realise that when I say I'm gonna protect someone, I mean it," Hitch growled.
Ruby laughed from behind him.
"You tell him, Zachary," she giggled.
"Keep your mouth shut, Ms Redfort," bellowed The Count.
"I don't think I will," she grinned. "You see, you lost because you didn't play by the rules. Rule 1: You can never be completely sure what might happen next. You forgot that every time you thought you had killed me. Rule 13: There is more to most things than meets the eyes. You forgot this when you underestimated Clancy. Rule 8: Don't let your imagination run away with you or you may well lose the plot. This was the reason you went wacko in the first place buster,"

Once Count Von Viscount had been dragged away and into a Spectrum helicopter Ruby ran over to Hitch.
"That looks bad," she said, touching the cuts on his face. He winced slightly but smiled.
"So does that," Hitch laughed slightly, pointing to the blood seeping from Ruby's cheek and her hairline. She wiped the blood from the side of her mouth and hugged him tightly.
"Thanks, Hitch," she said. Her words were muffled as her head was pressed into his shoulder. He ruffled her hair and kissed the top of her head.
"Hey, I'll die for you anytime. Although I'm starting to think I need a pay rise," he laughed, quoting Ruby, herself. Clancy ran over to them and joined the hug.
"Jeez guys, please tell me we're done with all this now," he sighed.
LB walked up behind them and tapped Clancy on the shoulder.
"There is always a spot for you in Spectrum if you want it, Crew," she said, shaking his hand.
Clancy smiled and looked at Ruby. She grinned at him.
"I'd love to," he smiled.
"Good, report to Red Room on Monday so Redfort can brief you on training,"
"So I take it she's like kinda my boss now," he smirked.
"I guess you could say that. Redfort, I have a business proposition for you," LB said.
Ruby raised her eyebrows.
"What's up?" she asked.
"You did good today, Redfort. I'm starting to think that you need a promotion. How would you like to be a senior agent and my new assistant,"
Ruby smiled widely and jumped up and down.
"Really? Like are you serious?" she laughed.
LB smiled properly and nodded.
"I'd like nothing more, just as long as I don't have to sit at a desk doing paperwork all day,"
LB laughed.
"Of course not; we need you in the field. You will be in charge of field work and training new agents. You will have to run things by me first but ultimately it will be your decision and you will also help me with briefing agents on cases," said LB.
"High five," said Ruby, holding her hand up.
LB raised an eyebrow.
"C'mon dude, don't leave me hanging,"
LB rolled her eyes and as her hand hit Ruby's, she felt her fingers being gripped. Ruby took hold of LB's hand and pulled her into a tight hug.
"Got'cha," giggled Ruby. LB smiled and hugged Ruby back.
Hitch looked up from his conversation with Clancy to see LB smiling and hugging Ruby. The agent grinned. He had known LB since he was fifteen and he had never seen her smile this way. She looked up and noticed his gaze.
"Oh shut up," she said, seeing the way he was grinning.

"Son," bellowed Ambassador Crew as he approached Ruby, Dan and Clancy. "What on earth have you been up to?" He did not look happy.
"Well... Umm, I was sorta..." stuttered Clancy.
"You should be very proud of your son, Ambassador," said LB walking towards them.
"What?" asked Clancy's dad, surprised.
"It is due to him that we were able to ensure the safety of Ruby Redfort and Hitch and he played a huge part in the imprisonment of Victor Von Leyden," LB smiled. "I'm Agent Byrd, superior officer at the FBI," she explained.
Ambassador Crew looked shocked.
"Yes," added Dan. "I wouldn't be standing here without him,"
"Clancy saved you?" asked the Ambassador.
"Yep and Ruby too," smiled Dan.
Clancy looked up at his dad and shrugged.
"I did what I had to do," he whispered.
"We appreciate your services Clancy. I think quite a few of us who were on the roof, including myself, owe you one," said LB as she turned to walk away.
Ruby noticed what was going on and walked over to Clancy. She flung her arms around him when she reached him and didn't let go.
"I never knew you were so brave, Clancy. You really saved my sneakers back there,"
Ambassador Crew smiled slightly.
"Well son, it seems you were quite heroic. Well done,"
As his dad walked away, Clancy grinned.
"You guys didn't have to lie ya know,"
"I didn't," smiled Ruby. "You shot Lorelei and missed me and helped fight off all those dudes,"
"Yeah, you did good," said Dan.

As Ruby stood by Hitch, she examined his face. He rolled his eyes, indicating that he was about to make a remark such as I'm fine or hey, I'm not the one who fell off a roof kid. She tilted his head backwards and wiped the trace of scarlet from his face. She pulled out her handkerchief and dampened it with a glass of water she had been handed. As she cleaned away the blood from his cheek and forehead she started talking,
"Ya know, when I was ten all I wanted to do was fall from buildings with jet packs but now I kinda want to just eat my donut without a psycho threatening my life."
Hitch chuckled at that.
"He missed your eyes luckily, although the cuts he did make are kinda deep. They won't disfigure that pretty boy face of yours forever but you'll be stuck like this for a couple of weeks," she smiled.
"Thanks kid but you might want to look at your own face. You're going pretty pale,"
"What is it with me and knives?" said Ruby sarcastically. Hitch laughed as Ruby wiped the ruby red blood from her hair.
"You know who we look like?" said Ruby, raising her eyebrows. Hitch shrugged.
"Nine lives," Ruby giggled.
