I wasn't sure what I was expecting when my mother invited everyone to the table: family discussion. It only centeres on my brother, it was useless ordering me to come in the first place.

"So, Miss Tim called today." She started, "and, your results are out! You won again baby, you won!"

Leo, my brother, looked up from his stripped covered notebook. His glasses were starting to slip off his nose until he pushed them up again in little irritation. "Thanks Mom."

Six eyes blinked at me, waiting for me to say something relevant or unrelevant to his success. "Congrats Leo."

"That's not enough Reo, are you jealous?" Dad asked.

Something in me burned, it ached to scream and pull away from their suffocating presence. "No. Sorry, my biggest congratulations to you, Leo."

My mom nodded in faint approval. "The expensive lessons are paying off."

There was a bowl of crackers on the dark brown mahogany table, still looking as it was when my mom placed it there. I wanted to eat one, no I longed to eat one but no one else touched it. I would have reached for it, I couldn't anymore, not after my slip-up on the celebration of  his victory.

"Yes, indeed." Cue in my dad standing up, straightening the collar of his T-Shirt, and nodding at Leo one more time. "I'm proud of you son, always proud."

The painful part of it all was Leo's nonchalant behavior to his parents' attention. I wanted it, I craved for it, but they didn't care. They always pushed me aside.

"Thanks Dad. Thanks Mom. I need to finish my A.P Calcus homework now."

Dad was already halfway up the stairs, he still nodded and muttered something along the lines of: 'That's my kid.'

I just wanted their attention. Was that too much to ask?
