I was starting to understand what Leo was trying to achieve. He would leave for almost a whole day, ignore everyone when he gets back, lock himself in his room, refuse to eat, then disappear all over again. He looked shabby, the worse he had ever looked from his pristine nature.

His hair was getting tangled, he was getting more aggressive in yanking his hair and pulling at it, I was scared he would come out of his room one day without his massive curls anymore. The mysterious part of it all is his eyes, his brown eyes were happy, the twinkled, they shone and looked much better than his appearance. Wherever he was going and disappearing to, he was happy there but dad wasn't happy. He wasn't happy at all.

"Leo! Open the door!" Today might be his breaking point, Leo came home at the early hours of this morning, brushed off dad and mom, ans went straight to his room.

"Honey, let him be."

"No! I did not raise a disrespectful son! Leo, open this door right now!" I knew what mom was thinking, Leo had two options: he could open the door and have the first taste of dad's growing anger, or he could shut the door and fuel his anger.

He chose the second option, or he just chose to ignore it all at once and dad was getting even more pissed. "Where is the spare key? I said where is it! I'll find I myself if I have to."

I stayed in my room, it wasn't locked. I didn't have the guts to act like Leo and lock my room, one heavy knock from my dad and I'll be cowering to open the door, but I didn't come out, I wouldn't dare to come out.

"Leo, honey, please. Please open the door, let's talk about this." Mom coerced.

Leo was smarter, he was getting older, he knew it was all a ploy. We might not be twins, he's older by a few months but we're both seventeen, he had an interview with Havard as a special guest and I'm sure that's what bothered my dad the most: him not showing up.

"This is your last chance Leo, open this door now." His voice was calm but I knew he was anything but calm.

From the comfort of my room amd the fear of getting mixed up in anything, I pressed my ear to my door, listening for any movement. There wasn't a single sound, none at all.

I cracked the door open slowly, poking my head out to the main corridor but dad's broad shoulders blocked my view. I took a step of courage and walked closer.

It was then I knew why everyone was quiet.
