Chapter 38

Sonic PoV:

We finally arrived at Apotos. Nothing changed since the last time I went here. I had so much good memories with Chip here!

I took Shadow's hand and made him a visit of the town. We went everywhere! Parks, museums, temples, restaurants....

The day passed really fast, we were now walking on the hot sand of the beach, looking at the sunset while holding each other hands. But as the sun went down, I stressed more.

"-S-Shadow....?
-it's already time?"

I nodded, he took my hand and we went out of the town to a forest.

We were walking for minutes through the trees and I saw that Shadow was going to an old dilapidated temple.

Inside it were a lot of Greek gods statues but one kept my attention.

A statue in the center of the temple was representing two gods fighting each other.

"-is.... Is that Solaris and Gaïa?!"

I looked at Shadow, who was looking at the statue while smiling.

"-How...? How do you even know this place....? You never went to Apotos...."

Shadow looked at me, still smiling. Suddenly, I felt a huge pain going through my body. I was transforming.

But that wasn't like every time, it was long and more painful than usual. I fell on the floor because of the pain.

I felt Shadow hugging me, I then felt the same feeling that I had in the plane.

The feeling that I should go away, to not stay here....

To not be with Shadow....

When I looked up at him, he was mumbling words.

"-W-who.... Are y-you.....?
-GET OFF OF HIM YOU MONSTER!!!"

We both looked at the one who shouted.

It was another Shadow.... His face was full of tears....

"-What do you want to do with him?!!

-I want the werehog.... That creature is so much easy to manipulate and so much powerful.... With him, I will easily be able to to release Iblis again so we could become Solaris again! And you're too late, he's already transforming!

-you forget that he will retransforming when the sun rises!

-you really think that I'm stupid?! He'll never be Sonic again! As long that I'll control him, he'll stay as the werehog!"

I started to struggle. I didn't want to become that beast forever! I get away from Mephiles and continued to struggle against myself.

I used all of my strength to not transform, if I'm not stransforming, Mephiles won't be able to do his plan.

Mephiles started to attack me, making me weaker but Shadow jumped on him.

"-Shadow! Don't do that!

-I don't want to lose you! Not after all you did for me!

-But... But I hurted you!

-you didn't do anything! It's all Mephiles fault! He controlled you! He's the one who raped me!!"

As Shadow and Mephiles continued to fight, I tried to not let the werehog go.

'Come on! Don't go! I want to protect everyone!! I must protect everyone!! We already saved the world together, we can do it again! Please werehog!!'

Suddenly, I heard someone scream.

It was Shadow who has been throw by Mephiles against a statue. From the shock of the impact, the statue broke and fell on him.

"SHADOW!!!!"

That completely destabilized and distracted me. I felt the werehog taking control of my body.

And everything went black...
