Chapter 37

Tails left the room, letting me alone in front of the computer where was a USB key plugged on it.

I started the only file that there was ; a video.

The video was very long, more than 9 hours. On it, it was the sunset, the camera was in a tree inside the forest. Nothing was happening...
Slowly, the night started to come.

I speeded it up, I don't have time for this!

Suddenly, the camera's lens broke and everything became blurry for a minute. The video started again but I couldn't see properly because of the broken camera.

I heard an heavy breath and moans and growls of pain. It was Sonic who was becoming that beast....

Suddenly, a black mass appeared in front of him.

"Mephiles......"

Feeling threatened, Sonic started to attack him but that demon was into his cloud form so he couldn't catch him.

Mephiles started to encircle him and I could see Sonic, afraid, trying to bite him.

Then Sonic's eyes change from emeralds to a snake green.

Suddenly, Sonic heard footsteps coming to his direction.

He was trying to run away but Mephiles was completely controlling him and made him go to the sound.

There was a long moment where I could only heard Sonic growls and bitting.

But a voice suddenly came...

"N-No!! Help me!! Sonic!!!"

I quickly stopped the video.

Tails came back after some minutes and I grabbed his shirt while crying.

"-T-tell me this isn't true!! Tell me that you faked the video!!

-Sorry Shadow but.... That's the truth...."

I fell back on the chair and cried more.

As I cried more, my rage was growing in my heart.
I pushed Tails away, took a gun (which was here if there was any problem) and ran to the airport.

20 minutes later....

I was running through the hallway where was Sonic's airplane.

I tried to get inside but I've been stopped by the security.

"No!! Release me! SOMEONE IS IN DANGER!! SONIC!!!"

I looked through the glass and saw Mephiles, smiling like he win a game.

"YOU REALLY THINK I'M GIVING UP NOW??!!!"

I took out my gun and tried to shoot on the glass but security guards stopped me and took me away.

I was waiting for the Commander and Rouge to come at the police station.

When they came, Rouge hugged me.

"-what happened?!

-M-Mephiles was here.... He took Sonic.... I wanted to stop him..... I wanted to protect him....I couldn't.... Now Sonic is going to die because of me....!"

I started to cry while Rouge was rubbing my back.

"-Where are they?!

-Apotos... In Greece....

-you can take an helicopter and go there..."

I got up and went to the Commander and hugged him.

"-thank you..."

After some minutes, I got out of the police station and took everything I needed.

I then took the helicopter for the Greece.

When we arrived, I didn't wait for the helicopter to stop, I took out a picture of Sonic and keep asking people the same question.

"Έχεις δει αυτόν τον άντρα;" (Have you seen this man?)

But all the same responses was

"Οχι" (No)
