Chapter 39

Shadow PoV:

I was doing everything I could to distract Mephiles. I didn't want to lose him again!

Suddenly, Mephiles grabbed me by the neck and threw me against one of the statue who broke and fell on me.

I screamed from pain. My chest has been crushed between the floor and the statue.

"SHADOW!!!"

I looked up at Sonic and saw that he was losing the control of his body.

"No!! Sonic, run!!!"

But it was too late...

He transformed....

I tried to get Mephiles attention but he already saw Sonic.

Sonic approached Mephiles slowly. He stopped in front of him and sat just like he was a dog in front of his owner.

"No.....S-Sonic....."

He looked at me and growled. He was already under his control....
I looked down and cried, I was ready to get kill. I heard him jump....

My eyes wide opened when I realized that Sonic was attacking Mephiles.

"what are you doing you idiot?!! How dare you to resist?!!"

Mephiles tried to stop him but Sonic started to bite his neck hard. When his teeth were enough deep, his ripped off his throat. As he was doing that, his claws were tearing up his abdomen, making him losing more blood.

Soon, Mephiles wasn't having enough blood in his body to live.

As I looked at the dead demon, Sonic approached me.

He started to sniff me before whining like a puppy, and licked my cheek.
I cupped his head in my hands.

"I'm okay.... Don't worry...."

The werehog started push off the statue. I crawled out slowly, feeling my rib cage broken.

When I was fully out, Sonic sniffed all my body, trying to see if I was hurt somewhere else. He pressed his forehead against mine and I saw a tear running down his cheek.

I slowly straightened up to laid on his chest, hugging him and hearing his heart beats. As I let my hand run through his dense fur, he cupped me inside his paw and walked out of the temple.

He went through the city, making some people scared and screamed, and some not reacting, like if they already saw him.

He got me to the hospital and whined, making doctors to hear him. One of them ran to us.

"-what happened sir?
-my chest.... It has been crushed....
-okay, we'll take care of you..."

He then looked up at Sonic and petted his head.

"-you saved someone else again....
-you know him....?
-he saved our lifes three years ago, he's a hero!"

Doctors took me off of Sonic and took me to another room.

.

Hours later, I woke up on the hospital bed, Sonic was still a werehog and was looking at me.

I started to cry and hugged him. He licked my cheek, removing my tears from my face.

"you only wanted to protect me.... And left both of you.... I'm such an idiot...!"

I knew that it wasn't Sonic that saved me, it was the werehog....

Sonic told me that he already had problems with 'others him' like Dark or Fleetway.

But they wanted to do bad things....

The werehog and Sonic were doing the same thing....

Protecting people....

Protecting me....
