Chapter 30 [Unfamiliar]

When I opened the door that leads to the meeting room, it took me by surprise to see someone I am not totally expecting. Beside the Del Grandes is Legend Torralba, in his clean luxurious coat, is also taken by surprise when he laid his eyes on me. What is this? Why is he here?

"Good morning, Mr. Graciano. Engr. Sawyer Del Grande of Del Grande Carpentry Works, it is nice to finally meet you.." the tall guy offered his hand, medyo natagalan akong tanggapin iyon dahil ang mga mata ko ay napirmi sa lalaking hindi ko inaasahan.

Hindi na ako halos makangiti. I was caught off guard with the sudden appearance of Legend Torralba in front of me, here at the Gracianos.

"Legend Amedeus Torralba of Torralba Builders, pleasure to... meet you.." naglahad din siya ng kanyang kamay. My eyebrows furrowed in a complete state of confusion, bakit siya narito? Alam niya ba ang tunay kong katauhan? Well, obviously he must know since he's here to meet the... owner of Graciano Constructions.

"R-Richard Bailey Graciano, honor to meet you M-Mr. Torralba." nanginginig ang kamay ko na tinanggap ang kamay niya. He gave me a short smile but it is also evident on his face that he's not expecting to see me.

I told the three to take their seat. Andrei went inside the room, with his usual clueless look on his face, he occupied the vacant chair beside me. He opened his macbook air before I started the discussion.

Del Grandes are famous for their carpentry works and manufacturing of office furnitures and even home decors. We also provide the same service however I think that it would be a great idea to have a collaboration with them. Two of the most powerful suppliers and builders in the industry of construction, no one can mess with our business.

The only thing that distracts me from my target is Legend Torralba, who's now looking amused with my presentation and offer to the Del Grandes. Wala akong ideya kung ano ang koneksyon niya sa mga ito at kung bakit siya kailangang naririto, pero siguro naman ay hindi... big deal iyon? He must be... friends with them or... worse, doing business with them..

"This is to honor the famous Richard Graciano and to continue the path to the best service we can provide to the country. I heard you have extended your service internationally, Engr. Sawyer?" bumaling ako sa lalaking mukhang interesante na nakatingin sa akin. He licked his lips slowly and his eyes moved upward.

"Yeah, it was a trial but it was executed successfully.." tugon niya, pinaglalaruan ang ibabang labi habang ang buong atensyon ay nasa akin. I just... don't know why that specific gesture felt so familiar to me.

Saglit na nagbulungan ang magpinsang Del Grande sa aking harapan, nalipat ang tingin ko kay Legend na nakatuon sa kanyang laptop pero minsanan ang ginagawang pagsulyap sa akin.

"What can you say... Mr. T-Torralba? Do you have any... insights?" ginamit ko ang pagkakataong iyon upang malaman ko ang tunay na pakay niya sa pagpapakita rito.

His usual curly hair still made him looked so young and carefree, but over the last three years he's grown almost similar to his older brother. The luxuriance and the aura he's giving me right now, it tells me something has definitely changed.
