Chapter 38 [Visitor]

I jumped outside his jeep wrangler nang makarating kami sa tapat ng isang residential building, muntikan pa akong matalisod dahil sa tangkad ng sasakyan niya. Hindi ko na hinintay pang makalabas siya, I went straight to open the door of the passenger seat and tried to grab all the paperbags. Upon several attempts, I failed considering it was a total of five paperbags.

"Let me help you." a mixture of male perfume and a minty scent attacked my nostrils when he placed himself behind me.

"Lev, kaya ko. Ako na." pagmamatigas ko kahit na alam kong walang pag-asa.

The frown on his face becomes evident. "How?  How are you gonna carry all these paperbags?" may pagka-sarkastikong tanong nito sakin, breaking down my trying-hard fortitude then he took the remaining three paperbags in one easy swoop.

Dalawang paperbag lang ang nadala ko, ngayong nasa bisig niya ang iba pang pinamili ay kailangan niya pa akong ihatid sa loob ng aking unit. Bakit ba kasi ang dami nitong napamili ko? Mag-isa lang din naman akong nakatira rito pero pang-isang buwan na yata ang binili ko.

I was in the middle of my own thoughts when he called my name that caught my full attention.

"Are you gonna lead the way or not?" bagot niyang tanong pero may nakakubling ngiti doon sa labi niya na mabilis ding naglaho.

Of course! It's my condo unit so I should lead the way! Good god! Why did I stall too much in front of him, anyway?

Dala ng saglit na pagkapahiya, naglakad ako ng mas mabilis kaysa sa normal kong lakad. I stopped in front of the elevators and pressed the button. Nang balikan ng tingin ang nakabuntot na si Leviticus, saka ko lamang napansing nahuli siya. The paperbags made it difficult for me to find his face, three steps away from me when he uttered something.

Leviticus is such a test to my own values in life. He's always been like that since then. Isang hipo lang niya sa bahagi ng katawan ko, nagliliyab na ako, hindi sa galit, pero dahil sa ibang emosyon.

Pinagmasdan ko naman ang mukha niya pagkatapos kong sabihin iyon. Not sure if he took note of it or it just faded out from his mind. Carrying three paperbags with so much weight, his biceps looked challenged. Dala niya yata ang paperbag na naglalaman ng mga mabibigat na produkto ng gatas at mga baking ingredients.

I gazed away from the sight of it. Inhaling deeply as I lose breath all of a sudden. With all these thoughts in my head, ako pa yata ang mas uhaw sa aming dalawa. Lahat nalang, konting kibot, napapansin ko sa kanya. And everything about him shouts sexy, I was stupidly thinking if he could at least tone it down or something?

But it was all natural so I need to deal with it by not looking at it or giving importance about it. See? I talk to much about it. How would I even stop?

"Kanina pa nakabukas ang elevator, Riley. Are we gonna get inside or take the stairs?" Levi's voice became the cue to move back to reality. Bukas na nga ang elevator pero nakatunganga pa rin ako sa kinatatayuan.

Umismid ako at pilit na pumasok sa loob ng elevator. Sumunod siya at pumwesto sa tabi ko. I showed a card to the scanner to access the button to my designated floor. Once again, I need to ride an elevator with him. With him. Seriously, how would I wash him away from my bubble of thoughts? He's been in my system since we met at the expo, and it's close to fucking me up!
