Chapter 19
I stared at the door dumbfounded. What did he just tell?
Everything that happened today has left me baffled. I really need my best friends. I need my family next to me. But I realised I left my phone lying there in the library when Joe suddenly appeared and....
I don't want to think about it. But I can't even call Seb and Ahmed. I want those two idiots to be my side so badly.
I got up from the bed and smoothed the messier bed sheet giving my bed a cleaner look. And once in blue moon I'm not lazy and it had to be today!
Maybe Shayans kisses were giving me energy. And I mentally screamed 'Eww' at that thought.
Nope I'm lying.
I was dancing inside my head.
I grabbed a baggy purple t shirt and my usual pyjama pants from the cupboard changing my attire quickly. Just in case Shayan peeked. He wouldn't but safety first. Once I changed I stood in front of the mirror again.
I looked at myself and shrugged all the painful thoughts off my head. This is the first time I wasn't running away from who I was. 'You are strong' something whispered. I suppressed a smile.
I heard a knock on the door. "Come in monster." I said but it wasn't him. It was Ahmed.
"Ahmed! What are you doing here?" I asked him studying his shocked expression. Then I realised why.
He came running towards me enveloping me into a hug. First I was startled but then I hugged him back.
"I'm sorry glitch. I couldn't be there for you. I'm the worst best friend ever. No! That's not it. I'm the worst friend ever." He said not letting me go of his hold.
"Eh Ralph, look at me. Your glitch is all fine. Come on." I said smiling but he didn't pull away to even look at me.
"No I'm the worst friend ever. No I don't think I deserved to be called friend. What do you call those people who are neither friends nor enemies?" He asked waving my body in swings.
"That my friend, are..." I paused to pretend like I was in some deep thinking. "Are called Crushes!"
He pulled away looking at me quizzically. "Crushes?" He asked.
"Yeah. They aren't your enemy because they're just too hot and you can daydream about them. And they aren't your friends because they always reject you by keeping in friend zone." I said looking at the ground like I was really making sense.
Ahmed looked at me with horrified eyes. There was a smooth silence but that was before he burst out LAUGHING.
"You know - this is - why - you're my - best friend." He said between his laughing fits.
"Shut up, you love me." I giggled.
"I deserve a punishment Haaniyah. Listen I'm going to turn around and you kick me in the butt okay?" He said and turned around.
"Are you serious?" I choked a laugh. He nodded his head quickly.
"Alright." I said rubbing my hands. "And here you go..a kick.." I shouted pulling my leg up mid air but he turned around immediately.
"YOU WERE GOING TO KICK ME IN THE BUTT? You were going to kick your best friend in the freaking butt?" He said making it sound dramatic. Like extremely dramatic.
"And now you deserve a kick." I said grinning evilly and pulling my leg mid-air to kick him. He closed his eyes yelling "eh hey I was kidding..kidding!"
