Chapter 4 Meeting Yassain

Surak was a brave, strong lion who would do anything for his home, in his mind he knew he had to do this but deeper, past his lungs, right in the middle his heart was screaming at him it was a bad idea, thoughts ran through his mind, what if he doesn't succeed, if his cover is blown? Will he end up like the untrustworthy lion that got killed yesterday? Surak pushed it to one side and focused on his task, to get close to Yassain. Be his loyal friend. Earn his trust and seek their plan. Kion said not to show his true identity. His name for now will be Sukarno. A name which means ruthless. Surak liked his new name and has to maintain his name, remember it and get use to it. Surak was ready. He was to report once a week. If he was in trouble to leave straight away. Meet at night where Ono will be his informant. Kion will get the news and introduce them to the PPO, Pride Protection Organization. Kikau will decide what we should do. It was on. If Yassain wants conflict there will be conflict.

Morning rose, birds chirp, animals snored. The Tree Of Life was silent, still and cool. The temperature was below seventeen and it was pretty chilly. Luckily for Kion and Rani they were protected from the coldness. Snuggled together on top of the plan leaves. Makini walled in, drew the vines to one side as a rays of sun light shined into the tree. The bright light flicked around Kion's eyes, he woke up as he looked at Makini, Rani was facing the other direction, still sleeping Kion whispered good morning, " good morning, getting up?", " yeah, give us a few minutes", Makini nodded and walked out. Kion laid there, not knowing what to do. He looked down at Rani, she had a smile on her face, seeing that made Kion smile to, he went over their plan and hoped Surak would be safe. 'It should work, hope so anyway ", Kion waited a few more minutes before waking up Rani, budging to get up Rani un-stiffened herself as she stretched. A big loud yawn came from her throat as she kissed Kion on the cheek, Kion hoped off the rock and walked out. There was no one around yet. Rani joined Kion as they embraced the cold. " Geez it's cold", they hugged to keep warm. Fuli and Azaad was the first to come, Azaad heard about the plan and asked if he'll be much help,"thanks for offering Azaad but it's too risky to have to of us in there", Besthe, Bunga and Anga joined them as they went over the patrols for today," although Azaad you could help by going with us on patrols, with Surak and Ono gone, we could use a paw", "of course, happy to help, whenever wherever, we cheetah's are useful", Kion went over the plan as Rani listened. The Night Pride walked back from their rest and joined Kion and the Day Pride. They departed as they spited up. Besthe Bunga and Azaad patrolled the insides while Anga Fuli and Kion would patrol the outskirts. Before Kion went off, they went over the plan with Surak. Surak listened carefully as he was told his back story, " understand, question, wouldn't it be easier for me to earn his trust quicker?"," how so?" Kion was interested in Surak's plan and liked it, it'll hurt but it has to be done, he'll recover. The idea was for Surak to be injured and nearly killed. Rani didn't like the idea but agreed which surprised Kion that it has to be done. Kion pulled out his claw and scratched Surak all over. Surak hasn't felt that Mich pain before in his life, he toughened up and winched but let him carry on. Surak then asked the second faze. Kion faced the north east, which is where Kumar the dead lion came from. Fuli traced the sent to what believed Yassian's hide out. Kion stood in place and looked up, forgiving the great kings from the past. Kion apologized Surak, he nodded and Kion roared Surak away. Surak screamed in pain as his wounds felt the cold. Kion didn't do it as rough or hard as he would of done to actual enemies. He had Ono fly over to see if he made it. A risky plan that could of got the strongest in the Night Pride killed. Kion looked at Rani who stared to weep. Kion assured he'll be fine. He comforted her. They sat there waiting for Ono to report.

Ono flew over the lands and found Surak barley able to stand. He was breathing heavily and was in tremendous pain. He had suffered a head confusion and broke a few ribs, whilst landing he landed on his front paw braking it. He was alive though, that's all what mattered. Before he flew across the lands he was giving a fresh hair cut so no one can recognize him. With all the scars and wounds it'll be hard anyways. Ono examined the injuries, did make him sick but was happy he is able to continue his task. Ono reported back to Kion, a sigh of relief came from both of them as they told him to return to Surak and keep an eye on him. Kion went back on patrol as Rani headed to speak to the Night Pride. Back with Surak, he managed to get up and was limping, winded and sore Surak carried on, he really was the strongest out of them all. Had a mind of steel and and heart of diamonds. Under his fierce strong build laid a kind loving heart. Ono wondered if Surak is okey to walk the extra mile. Surak assured he was fine, Ono left him for now. Flying high inspecting the area. His eye sight wasn't a hundred percent but was able to make out two lion. Both males, pale brown skin, maybe around twenty maybe more, they seemed to be patrolling the area and was coming straight for Surak. Ono flew down and warned Surak about them. "That's great, time to meet Yassain", Surak grunted as he limped towards the two. Ono flew high, out of sight.

" Why does Yassain have to send us to make sure Kion and his stupid pride isn't around "? Zuro one of the two lions spoke out, complaining, Miroka the other lion who was twenty nine spoke, giving a warning, " if he hears you complain you'll end up like the foolish Kumar", Zuro growled at Miroka who growled back, they continued on their walk. Talking about how great Yassain is. They'll about yo talk about attacking the Tree Of Life but again Miroka gave the twenty two year old a wise warning. Wanting action Zuro argued, they'll about to fight until Surak piped up, " Hay, Excuse Me, Help, Please I Need Help, I Am Badly Injured", Zuro and Miroka rushed to his aid. They helped him as Surak collapsed to the ground. Miroka asked where he came from. " I come from the outlands, I was on my way to seek refuge, I was hungry and sick, needed help. I came across this Lion named Kion who kicked me out. I argued and we fought, he had the upper hand and here I am, are you guys with him? Please have mercy", Surak's cover was perfect, it fooled them both," no we are not, come, Zuro will help you get to our pride. You seem injured. We'll take you to our leader, he'll help you", they stood side by side with each other as Surak was helped to Yassain's pride. ' first step done', Surak smirked under all the pain. Ono watched on and flew back to Rani and reported.

Coming close to Yassain's pride Surak could see how hidden it was, it was massive, around fifty hectares. Trees and bushes, rocks and streams, rivers and dams. It wasn't bigger then the Tree Of Life but it was big enough to hold everyone inside. The ground was sorta dead, hardly any grass, but plenty of shelter. Looking around there was lions of all kind walking and lying around. They all looked in their direction. Gasped and shock came from the crowd. Young cubs were hidden away. The mother's didn't want them to see the lion who was badly treated. Loosing blood fast Surak began to black out. Fell and laid still.

Surak woke in a vast emptiness. It was dark, examining the room he was in he figured he was in a cave, Yassain's. There was a small pond with fish in one corner. Out ahead of him was some plants that grew. Lioness slept out of the way on the other side of the cave. He was stiff and still sore. He couldn't move. One of the Lioness walked over to see if he was okey. " hi, my name is Kimala, I am one of the healers here", Surak introduced himself as Sukarno, " pleasure to meet you, it seems you have suffered lost of blood, three broken ribs and a broken paw. You need to rest for now, Yassain the leader/king here orders me to take care of you, I hear you come from a dark place tell me", Kimala was pretty, a strong lioness, her fur was light, she had a sweet kind voice and a gentle personality. She was twenty six. Yassain's little niece.
" well where I come from is called the Outlands, it's just outside the Pride Lands actually, a place were we longed to be but because of a stupid ruthless king called Simba we were forced to live in rough conditions, I hated it and left, I sought help and was again refused by the king there named Kion. He kicked me out, he scares me, he roared me out, don't know how he does that, wish I can have it so I can kill him", Surak was a professional, his heart began to rise and was sweating. This was purposely done. Kimala calmed him done and gave him some water to drink.

Finishing their patrol Kion and his team met up with Azaad's team. Nothing so far, they wondered about Surak and if he has made friends already," we'll see what Ono says", Kion lead the Day Pride to the tree and debriefed the Queen. Ono gave good news as they took in Surak. All hope for his good recovery and long undercover.

The sun began to set over the lands. The light that was shining through the cave is now disappearing. He wondered about dinner, thinking about it made him hungry. At that moment Yassain walked in with a dead calf. " So your the newbie I am hearing, my name is Yassain leader of the Force Of Fire", Surak wondered what type of name it was, he got the answer. It was in honour of their mentor scar, Surak told Yassain all about him and where he came from and what he is destined to do. Surak showed a tough deep tone that showed Yassain he wasn't afraid. "You know, we need a new warrior, a new lion, your gonna have fun", " a propitiation?", "yes, I like you, you seem to know what your doing and I need someone like you, you'll help our cause", Surak asked what his cause was but knew he shouldn't
