Chapter 10 Deathly Sorrow

It's a dark day for everyone, even though no one knew their was a feeling that something was wrong, the fact that Surak hasn't turned up to their regular meeting, no scent of him or Yassain. Ono was sent to cheek on him but he was to be seen no where, the snow has thickened as it covered the savanna, just stopping to let it rain sun rays to warm the Tree Of Life and surrounding valleys and prides. The search for their own has started at eight in the morning. A feeling of fear was getting close to the tribes who help the Day Pride to find Surak, flying over Ono and Anga try and spot the brown muscular lion. Hoping he isn't dead Ono and Anga desperately eying the lands, " what if his cover was blown? If Yassain found out? And if he is you know", Trying not to think about it became more and more realistic as Surak wasn't around. "Let's stay positive Bunga, there is still a chance he is fine, maybe they went on a journey, who knows, we can't always jump to conclusions", " yeah okey, who's gonna tell Kion and Rani when they return?

Arriving in Kion's home territory Rani was amazed to see the lands Kion once lived, Animals from all around saw Kion and Rani and rushed over to see them, all were happy to see them, seeing Rani for the first or second time they asked questions about how is life at home, not wanting to announce it Kion told a white lie saying that it was great and their enjoying it everyday. " we have to go, talk later", Kion hugged a few of the pride animals and walked off with Rani to speak about war with Simba and the Out Lands. "Kion?", Vitani and her guard was walking, taking their lunch break, " what are you doing back here so quickly? Is everything alright?", " no not really, do you know if my dad is around? ", " no, they are hunting with Kiara and Kovu, they should be back in around four hours, why what's up", Vitani started to get concerned and wanted to know, Rani explained why they were there, " we have a problem, we might need to go to war, I know it sounds harsh but recently we had a lion known as Yassain has been attacking and wanting to take over the tree of life and maybe even all the prides, including The Pride Lands", Vitani was now shocked out of her fur, " WAR? as in prides against prides?", " yeah, we need to warn you guys and get some help, we already got King Kikau and a few others to help and on high alert, the PPO is scrambling to help and warn all prides but need to know that Yassain is building a bigger army then both pur prides, I've seen it for my own eyes", " dam, we're here for you guys, we will come with you", " thanks, we could use all the help we get", Vitani ordered her pride to tell Jaseri and Janga to come to the rock for a meeting. Vitani pulled Kion to One side as Tazama and Kasi showed Rani around the plains," it is beautiful, I wish I could live here", they talked about the danger rising and what to expect, also talking about Kion, how he fitted in and his is he coping with the threat, being honest Rani sadi Kion is being a great leader, king and friend.

Vitani talked about the roar of the elders, how she is managing and succeeding, " that's great, we could use more than one roar to defeat Yassain", Vitani asked about who was Yassain and what was his big idea. He explained he'll talk about it when Simba and Nala along with the two kids to arrive home. Jaseri and Janga arrive to the rock to see Kion and  the lion guard there, happy and glad to see them Jaseri went around and hugged the two royals. " missed you guys so much", " missed you two, unfortunately were not here to meet up", " I know Kasi told us on the way over, we will fight, the hyena resistance will help you fight against that ruthless lion. " thank you, it'll be a long winter ", they waited there for some time, talking only for the positives for now until the other royal family arrives.

"Kion? Queen Rani?", walking in was Kiara and Kovu, first finishing up they raced along the lands only to see the brother and queen of the Tree Of Life. Hugging them Kovu asked what they were doing," were here on businesses, we is dad?", " he should be here soon with mum", " what about us?" Simba and Nala ran up to Simba, hugging them, '' so came back home? Sick of Rani yet", Simba jokingly said it and coped a nudge by Nala, Rani giggled and said that he was fine, " sorry to break it to you but we need help, Yassain, a ruthless lion has rised and is now wanting to take over yours and our prides", " no, your kidding?" " no, he has already attacked us twice, killing more than five hundred and maybe more by now, we got Surak undercover, hopefully he doesn't blow it", " okey, tell me everything".

The search party came to a rest as the Day Pride stopped in the snow, the sun Beaming down onto them, it was winter and cool, damp and snowy, hard to see they knew that Surak is either dead, running to stay alive or safely with Yassain on an adventure. But soon it went down to two scenarios, they saw Yassain in the distance no one near him, he had blood all over him and was grinning, they knew instantly that it was done, feeling angry and sad they rushed towards him, " YASSAIN", he stopped and turned but it was too late, Fuli was already on top of him and was yelling at him, " where is Surak, what did you do?", Nirmala and Baliyo arrived and saw it. Not understanding it until they heard the undoubted truth, smiling like a devil Yassain sprouted it out," HE IS DEAD, I KNEW HIS COVER AND PERSONALLY KILLED HIM, I KNOW YOU WANT TO KILL ME, BUT KILLING ME, MAKES IT WORSE", Baliyo heard this and ran over, crying and yelling, " WHERE IS HE?", " Ahh, your that lion, well I'm sure your pathetic lion died traumatically", getting angrier and angrier Baliyo tried killing Yassain but failed, Yassain fought back and defended his body, calling them names, and speaking bad in Surak's name, smiling like evil Yassain was getting the best out of them, he tried killing them but soon many more lions showed up, double thinking Yassain called them one final name before running off, To sad to fight, Baliyo took it in, crying his head off, he couldn't believe it, his brother was dead, Nirmala tried comforting him as tears of sorrow ran down his face. Fuli told Anga to quickly go and fetch Kion and Rani, they need to come back, as quick as possible, flying off  Anga heads towards the Tree Of Life to warn Kion and Rani about the sudden death of Surak.

Later that Night Anga arrived at the Pride Lands and went straight to the rock, " Kion, Rani", they were having dinner before Anga interrupted," what's up, is Yassain attacking?" Kion got up ready to leave, " no, sorry to say", Anga looked sad and looked in Rani's direction, " NO, IT CAN'T BE", Rani began crying, she knew Surak was gone, "Surak was killed by Yassain", " WHAT", everyone stopped eating and listened, Anga explained to them what had happened, Rani ran out, Following was Nala and Kiara, they went over to Rani to  comfort her, Simba told Kion that they should go, Jaseri and Janga agreed. " who will stay here then?", " I will, Rafiki and the lioness joined Kion and agreed that they should go, they can protect it", " sure, well if Yassain wants War?"

                     " War it is!"
