Gabe

It feels as though I have a hole in my stomach, I can barely breathe. Everything around me seems to be moving in slow motion as Gabriel pulls his fist away from me with Dev grabbing him by the neck and throwing him backwards.

He turns to me but Gabriel grabs him and a fight breaks out but I can't hear it. I can't hear anything but my heart beating in my chest, I can't make out the words Dev keeps screaming.

My insides burn and the feeling of a pit in my stomach won't go away, the pain just keeps getting worse. I'm so focused on the pain that not a sounds comes from me, even as I drop to my knees holding my core tightly and forcing in oxygen into my body.

Tears burn my eyes and flood out, blurring my vision of the floor as I try to get my shit together. I'm trying to push out the pain as the sounds in the room slowly start coming back.

"Grace!" I look up to Lexi and Lee screaming my name from the door way blocked by two giant birds fighting. "Grace focus" Lexi teleports next to me and tries to help me up but Gabriel slits her throat before I am fully up. Her blood stains my face as she drops lifeless to the floor.

An evil smile sits on his face as my heart starts beating faster. Dev is on the floor with his heart ripped out and blood coloring everything. Lee stands frozen at the door staring at Devs body. Did he just kill the devil?

"He'll live, I just need a minute with you before he recuperates" Gabriel throws the knife on the floor and I'm scared. I don't want to get hurt, I didn't want Lexi to get hurt or Dev. Why am I always the center of trouble and pain. His hand lifts to grab my throat but he flinches away when he touches me. "Protection spell huh?"

Lee manages to get passed him grabbing my hand, probably trying to teleport out of here.
He tries again and this time takes several steps backwards. "We have to go!" Half way through the teleport Lee starts  to turn to ashes and I'm back to point A. How did she just turn into nothing?

"I'm not done with you" Gabriel charges at me again and I squeeze my eyes shut waiting for impact, but nothing. Absolutely nothing. I open my eyes and find him grabbing his ears in pain as they bleed out.

What's going on? Am I hurting him? Gabriel starts screaming louder as his ears bleed even more, he drops to his knees. The screaming doesn't stop, he keeps screaming, so much agony. I cover my ears with my hands and drop to my knees. This is not what I want! Why! Why me!? I want it to all stop. The screaming is so loud.

"No, no, no!" Make it stop.

"Hey, hey, what's wrong?" Dev? I look up and everything is normal? How?

"You were on the floor and Gabriel-"

"What?" He grabs my hands looking straight into my eyes. "You saw my brother?"

"He, he,he was here an-and he" I can't breathe, I grab my chest Hoping maybe it will help remove the restraints on it.

"Kiah breathe, you are having a panic attack, you need to brea-" Dev is interrupted by the door flying off its hinges. And there stands Gabriel.

"No!!!!!, I forbid you, I will not go through it again!" I scream at him with my hand raised in his direction. Gabriel stands frozen in place, the thought of getting hurt again fill my head. He killed Dev, he killed my soulmate. "I'll kill him before he kills us!".

"Wait!" Dev screams. And I pause. "I have no idea why Gabriel is here but he won't hurt you Kiah, trust me" he dusts himself off but my focus is on my enemy.

"He killed you Dev" I whisper but I know Dev heard me.

"No he di-" his words are cut shut with Gabriel standing behind him. Blood flows out of Devs mouth, my eyes trail down his body where a large knife is continuously twisting through his chest.
