Chapter 2: Story Time

Lucy's room fell into dead silence after Natsu and Happy asked their question.

In an effort to break the silence, Natsu waved his hand in front of Lucy's face and asked her if she was alright.

The celestial spirit mage broke out of her trance and looked at her partners once again.

"You guys don't know anything about Christmas?" Lucy questioned. Natsu and Happy sadly shook their heads. She was shocked that these two didn't know anything about this joyful holiday.

"What is it Lucy?" asked the blue exceed. Natsu looked at Lucy, waiting for her response.

Lucy thought about it for a minute and then started telling them all sorts of things you do during Christmas, such as exchanging gifts, decorating your house, and adorning a Christmas tree with decorations. She was making all of these hand gestures and excitement was expressed in every word she said.

Natsu and Happy sat on Lucy's bed, taking in every little detail Lucy has mentioned during their little story time.

Lucy gently placed her hand on her heart and smiled. "And the most important thing about Christmas is spending quality time with the people you love."

Natsu and Happy smiled as well and then all three of them laughed.

"Christmas sounds so beautiful Lucy," Happy said with glee. She nodded at the little neko and then quickly turned to Natsu.

"By the way, why did you two come to my apartment?"

"A-ah well you didn't come to the guild and I left to go find you to make sure you were alright," Natsu said while nervously scratching the back of his head.

Happy flew up to Lucy's ear and whispered, "You know he was worried about you the entire time." "I was not!" Natsu reacted a little too quickly.

"He llliiiikkkees you!" Happy said rolling his tongue. Natsu crossed his arms and sighed.

"Aw Natsu don't be like that. It's the Christmas season after all," Lucy said as she put her hand on Natsu's shoulder.

Natsu lightened up and then gave her a subtle smile. "You're right Lucy. Thanks!"
All three of them smiled. You couldn't even compare the brightest star to their smiles. That's what Christmas does to you I guess.
