Hi guys! Long time no see. Just in case you didn't catch it in the last chapter, I thought I would just repeat myself again:
I am no longer setting deadlines for this fanfic. I know I set a deadline already. I don't want to post multiple chapters in a row because it'll just spoil the momentum of the story and the suspense of my cliffhangers.

Now, I'm really sorry for not being more attentive to this fanfic as much as I want to. I just have a lot of things going on right now...Nevertheless, I will do my best to post at least one chapter every week from now on.

Okay, thanks again for reading my author's note and I hope you enjoy this chapter. Until next time!

Lucy continued to look into Luna's eyes as she waited for an answer. The little star just laughs nervously.

"Don't you remember Lucy? I told you that I don't remember--"

"Luna, I know you're lying about that," Lucy immediately answered back.

Luna stiffened up due to Lucy's response. "W-Why would you think that I'm lying to you?"

"I noticed that you hesitated when Natsu asked you about the person responsible for sealing the ice demons."

The little star tried to look away, but Lucy still kept her gaze on Luna.

"Just tell me the truth. Who is the person that sent you here and requested this mission?" Lucy asked once again. Luna remained silent. The celestial spirit mage sighed in frustration. She decided to read the letter one more time to find answers since the little star wasn't willing to say anything. That's when realization hit her.

"Nee Luna, why does this letter look like it's written in Mama's handwriting?" Luna's eyes widened when she heard that. Her actions didn't go unnoticed, as Lucy saw the shock that Luna expressed.

Lucy stared at her with more intensity. "There's something you're not telling me..."

"W-Well..." Luna stuttered.

"Is Mama the one who sent you here?!"

Luna's eyes widened. She was surprised from Lucy's question. Curious about the girl's assumption, she looked at the celestial spirit mage. "What makes you think that it was Mama that sent the letter?"

Lucy pointed at the letter. "This letter contains Mama's handwriting. I'm 100% positive that she wrote this."

Luna gaze slowly moved toward the ice. She sadly looked into the frozen water. "Lucy, you don't know what you're talking about. Mama is already dead."

The harsh reality hit Lucy. How could she forget that it would be impossible for her mother to be the one when she's not even a part of this world anymore? Lucy felt stupid for forgetting something like that, but that letter just feels like it's from her mother. Lucy took a few deep breaths to relax herself.

"I'm sorry Luna." Lucy paused for a moment and sighed. "I wasn't really thinking straight."

Luna told her that it was alright. Then she said that they should really catch up to Natsu and Happy before they start to worry. Before Luna was able to fly away, Lucy grabbed her hand. The little star tried to pull away, but the girl had a firm grip on her hand.

"You know, just because I wasn't thinking straight doesn't mean that I don't want to know who sent you here." Lucy calmly told Luna.

The little star stiffened up at the comment. She tried to free herself from Lucy's grip, but it was too strong.

"Now, tell me who requested Team Natsu."

"We should really get going now--"

"I'm done playing games Luna! You have been avoiding my question, telling me lies, and giving me excuses!"

Luna flinched at Lucy's outburst. The little star was glad that her back was facing Lucy because she didn't have the guts to look at her face.

"Who is it?" She emphasized each word of her question. Lucy tightened her grip on the letter and Luna's hand as she anxiously waited for an answer. Luna sighed to herself. She knew that Lucy and everyone else were going to find out eventually.

"Lucy...I'm so sorry...I should've told you sooner...but I didn't have the heart to tell you..." Luna quickly glanced at Lucy, only to see her eyes screaming desperation for an answer. She took in a deep breath and then heavily sighed. Luna whispered the person's name softly. Although it was barely audible, Lucy heard it loud and clear. Her eyes widened. A gasp escaped her parted lips.

Dead silence now took place. A minute has passed and still no words were spoken. Wind just blew past them as both of them stood still as if they were frozen in place. After another minute has passed, Lucy decided break the silence.

"This has to be a mistake..." Luna shook her head.

"But--"

"I know Lucy...I know..." Luna clenched her fists and cursed to herself. "Frost and Ayame must have done something to make sure that their mission is a success."

Lucy tightened her grip on Luna even more. "Please tell me that you're lying about this..."

"I would never joke about something important," said Luna.

"Why?" Lucy whispered.

Luna picked up her distressed tone. Concerned, she turned around. Lucy was shaking, and Luna could probably guess that it wasn't because of the cold. The girl clutched onto the letter as if her life depended on it. What hurts the most is that Luna saw the wet spots on the letter. Even though Lucy's head was down, Luna knew that she was crying.

"Out of all of the people in the world, why did it have to be her?"

"Lucy..." Luna reached out to comfort Lucy, but the girl grabbed her hand and pushed it down. She shook her head. Luna was worried about Lucy, but she just backed away to give her some space. A few minutes later, she suddenly heard a sigh coming from Lucy. Luna noticed the celestial spirit mage wiping away her tears and then lifting her head up. Lucy saw Luna looking at her and smiled.

"I'm fine Luna. You don't have to worry about me." Lucy reassured the little star that she was alright. "Besides, Natsu and Happy are probably waiting for us right now. We should go now so they won't freak out." Lucy advanced along the ice trail without saying another word. Luna was taken back by Lucy's actions, but she knew that it was all an act. She sighed and started to follow the celestial spirit mage.
