14. Jason-I'm not suffering

Jason realized that he was making a big mistake. He moved away from Roy. "I'm sorry, Roy. I'm uhh... dating someone."
He didn't want to tell anyone about him being from a different timeline. But, Jason didn't want to lie to his friend. "I'm not your Jason. I'm from a different timeline." Jason told Roy everything. At least all that he knew so far. Of course he didn't tell him that he dies in the original timeline. But he told him that he's in love with Dick, even if he may not feel the same way in this timeline.
"You have to fight for him, Jay," Roy said, "Don't get me wrong, I don't Wally to get hurt but, I don't want to see you suffering either."
"I-i'm not suffering," Jason lied.
"I knew something was wrong a few days ago. I just.." Roy paused, "I didn't think it was because the timeline got messed up."
"Yeah," Jason added.
"So how am I like in your timeline? I bet I'm still awesome!" Roy laughed.
Jason felt sad for a moment but he hid it, "You were the best."
"Were?" Roy asked.
Fuck. I can't tell him he died. "Uhh yeah, you retired early."
"Retired? Wow I must be old," Roy laughed.
"You got severely injured on a mission."
"Ah, that makes sense. I don't think I would ever retire early," he laughed.
He shifted uncomfortably and he faked a laugh.
"But really dude, aren't you even going to try to change the timeline? Or at least try to get Dick back?" Roy asked. "You're hurting."
"I-I can't." Jason replied.
"No, it's that you don't want to. Why? You're in love with him!"
"It's not that simple, Roy. He's in love with Wally."
"Then show him why he fell in love with you. He will choose you."
"I don't want him too!"
Roy looked confused. "What?"
