"Yes," Jason smiled. Yes. Yes. Yes.
But everything around him was fading, shattering, before Jason's eyes. "No!" Jason shouted as he reached for Dick but he, too, faded into the darkness.
Jason fell to the ground and cried, "No, no, no! Don't leave me!"
He closed his eyes, hoping that when he opened them that Dick will be there, smiling back at him.
He opened his eyes and looked around to see where he was. It was dark and he couldn't tell where he was.
It was just a dream. Everything was a dream. Nothing happened. Dick didn't die. I didn't die. But where is he? He felt a pain near his heart where he got shot. He looked at it and realized that it was a wound from being shot. No. No. No. I have to find Dick.
He lifted his hand to move his hair out of his face then he realized there was a weight on his ring finger on his left hand. He looked down at it and realized what it was.
What? That means...
"Hey, Todd."
He heard someone open the door to the room and Damian appeared. "Damian? What are you doing here? Actually where is here? And where's Dick?" Jason had so many questions. Then he saw something that he never expected to see in his life. "Damian? Are you crying?"
Damian fell to the ground in tears. Jason rushed over to Damian and held him tightly in his arms. "Hey, it's okay," he whispered, he didn't know how to comfort Damian. "You can tell me what's wrong."
"He's gone, Todd. He's gone," Damian tried to say but he was crying too much.
"Who? One of your pets? We'll find him," Jason replied, thinking that one of Damian's pets have gone missing.
"No," Damian said as he wiped his eyes. "Grayson. He's dead."
