Jason felt hurt, when he said those words. But that's what I wanted for him. Why do I feel like this?
"Fuck. Sorry," was all that Jason could say.
"No," Dick replied, "It's my fault." Jason could tell that he, too, was at a loss of words.
"Well, do you like him?" Jason asked.
"Y-yeah," Dick replied, "he's a nice guy."
"That's good."
They both stood in silence, waiting for the other to say something. Then, Dick's phone rang and he looked at it.
Jason noticed that Dick didn't immediately pick up the phone. "That him?"
"Yeah," Dick replied, without taking his eyes off his phone.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Pick it up," Jason said, to cover up his heart break.
Dick looked at Jason and smiled. He picked up the phone, "Hi." Jason couldn't make out what the person on the other line was saying, but he could tell that Dick felt happy listening to his voice. "Calm down," Dick laughed, "I'm fine. If it makes you feel better, I'll stop by later. See you." he hung up the phone.
"Hey, I know that this is kind of weird, but..." Jason paused, "Can I meet him?" I just want to make sure that he has someone who treats him well.
"Sure, I'm meeting him later," Dick replied, "You can come with."
