"I d-don't want him to choose me," Jason said. "I love him. I really do. But he deserves so much more than I can offer him. He has a chance of a better life without me. I want him to take that chance. I want him to have an amazing life, without me fucking it up."
Roy slapped him in the face, "You can't fucking believe that, Todd! You, too, deserve happiness. And that's with Dick whether you choose to accept it or not. You can't say that he deserves happiness and not say the same thing about yourself! I may not know you as well as...well, you from this timeline, but I know Jason Todd. And that will never change, no matter what the timeline is. So fight for him."
"Like hell I deserve to be happy! You don't know what terrible things I have done as an outlaw. You don't know how many lives I took. I don't deserve to be happy, Roy. But, Dick does. He needs someone who will treat him better than I could. Like Wally."
"You're wrong, Todd," Roy said as he stood up, "When are you going to realize that you are fucking wrong." Roy left the room and Jason left to his thoughts. This is what I fucking do. I push people away when they are just trying to help. Am I doing the right thing? I'm letting Dick fly away from me. He needs to be free, not trapped in a cage by someone who is ultimately going to destroy his life.
