Today is my sister's birthday so everyone should wish lindsey612 a very happy birthday because if she wasn't born today, I wouldn't be uploading this chapter to give her something to read even though she's already read it but whatever. here you go. (:

Lacey.

Travis was on the ground, the butt of Vik's gun still in his hand after he hit Travis on the head with it. I flinched toward Travis on instinct but Ben grabbed tightly onto my arm, keeping me in my place. Lucky was shrieking a few steps away from us, staring down at his bloodied hand. There was a small dent in the side of the van door where the same bullet that went through his hand ended up.

I didn't know if he'd tell us to get in the van, leave us here, or kill us where we stood. Ben was right to keep me from moving. I wasn't sure if Lucky would react well to the movement.

Lucky clenched his teeth together. "I didn't tell you to knock him out," he spat at Vik, who was picking up the gun that Travis had stolen and dropped.

Vik grunted.

Lucky took a few steps forward getting into Vik's face, eyes alive with fury. "Did I tell you to knock him out?"

Vik looked down at the ground but didn't answer.

Lucky backed away, holding his hand. "He's going to wake up damaged now. Fuck this hurts," he stepped away from Vik, cradling his arm. "Get him in the van."

Vik nudged Rotten Egg, who Travis had kneed in the face. I don't know how Travis didn't pass out at the smell from being that close to him in the first place. Slowly, Rotten Egg started to wake up so I knew Travis hadn't killed him. I couldn't say the same thing about Crazy Eyes, who had fallen victim to Travis' aim.

Rotten Egg sat up groggy, rubbing his head.

Lucky came to stand right in front of Ben and I. Rage and pain were clear on his face and they weren't mixing together well to make anything good. He raised his good hand beside my head and I flinched without thinking.

My fright must've been enough for him because he lowered his hand before touching me.

Lucky's eyes danced between Ben and I. "You'd better get a good look. You won't be seeing your friend for a very long time. Let's go, I'm done with this place."

He stepped away and I told myself to breathe.

There was a sneer on Rotten Egg's face as he helped Vik haul Travis into the van without any kindness or care.

"What about Kane?" Rotten Egg asked, looking to the Crazy Eyed man on the ground behind Ben and I.

Lucky got into the passenger seat this time and started wrapping something around his hand. "This whole visit has gone to absolute hell in a hand basket and I don't care for it."
