Lacey.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today on this bastard of Thursday," Travis grumbled next to me.

We were outside near the old dilapidated barn because this was where Finn had been practically screeching for us all to meet up. I could still hear his voice from inside the house yelling at everyone to get out.

After Hannah announced her and Cameron were going to get married yesterday and after Josh went back to his hotel to leave, Hannah said it was just going to be just our small group. She didn't want anything special or big and the smaller it was, the better. I wasn't sure her family would agree with that but then, I didn't know what kind of relationship she had with her family. If she worked for her dad's hospital back when we were in Melkin it couldn't have been that bad but I didn't say anything.

Finn volunteered to marry them, saying he'd get ordained online. It could be argued that he was taking his role a little too seriously.

Annabeth, Hannah, and I had decorated a little bit. And by that, I meant we kind of just tidied up the spot Hannah wanted to do it in. We filled a few of the random pots and barrels we found in the farm with some of the wildflowers. I didn't miss Finn grabbing one single flower out of a barrel and walking into the house with it. When I looked at Annabeth to see her reaction, she avoided making eye contact with me. I asked Hannah if she wanted to go to the store and buy actual decorations but she said no. She said she'd had enough time to think of exactly how she wanted it and that the only thing she needed to be there was Cam.

That didn't stop us from buying a few desserts and treats from town, which were now set out in the kitchen and was half of the reason Finn was having a hard time getting everyone out. Travis had looked like he wanted to shoot Finn the second he started telling him what to do so I grabbed as many cookies as I could and the two of us made a swift exit.

The only two that hadn't been picking at the desserts were Hannah and Annabeth, as the two of them had been locked in Annabeth's room for the last thirty minutes.

Raising a cookie to my mouth, I sent Travis an unimpressed look.

"What?" he hissed, "This is bullshit."

Travis' head suddenly dipped forward as Finn smacked the back of it, barely stopping on his way past us.

"Ow!" Travis complained as he rubbed his head.

Finn warned, "Shut your mouth."

"Don't hit people," I said to his back as I threw one of my cookies at him.

It flew through the air like a frisbee, colliding with Finn's shoulder before dropping to the ground. He turned around, looked down, and carried on, because it wasn't like a cookie did much damage but it was the thought that counted.

"What is wrong with you?" Carlos asked, shouldering his way past me to pick up the discarded cookie. Carlos sent me a resentful glare before looking down at the cookie cradled in his hands that was among at least five others. "Come on, she didn't mean it."

I raised my eyebrows.

"Is he talking to the cookie?" Travis asked, not bothering to keep his voice down.

I made a noise in the back of my throat to agree.

"Everyone here is weird," he stated.

I made another noise of agreement as I turned and saw Cam and Ben coming out of the house, with Arson trailing after them. No one was dressed up. Ben had a pair of khakis on and a warm flannel shirt that I'd seen him wear before so I knew it wasn't a button-up specifically for this day. Carlos was wearing his green hoodie. Travis had his colorful attire on of black pants, black shirt, and a black hoodie. I wasn't much better than him but I at least had my red leather jacket on. Finn had black cargo pants with so many pockets I hoped one of those held the rings and an old t-shirt that looked like it was five times too big for him.
