Ch. 5: Minnehaha Falls

~Bailey's POV~:
"Ummm Bailey? These stairs don't seem safe...there's a sign that says they are closed. We shouldn't walk on an icy closed staircase..." Ashton was complaining. He looked terrified. I laughed...sorry but I've walked on these icy stairs multiple times and it's no big deal really.

"Yeah Bailey this just seems dangerous..." Now Calum was looking terrified as he protested against the stairs. Such babies.

"Come on you wimps it'll be fun. I promise. Here one of you weirdos can hold my hand if you want." I said. Ashton quickly raised his hand causing me to have a mini heart attack at his excitement, and causing Ava to elbow me lightly.

"What about meeeee?" Calum whined. He also pouted.

"Here Calum...take my hand." Ava stuck her hand out to him. Luke looked shocked instantly and Calum did as well. Oh no...

"Ummm what about Luke?" Calum awkwardly motioned towards the scared blonde boy. Whose cheeks were bright red from either the cold winter weather or from his embarrassment.

"I have two hands..." Ava said. She laughed a little at the two teenage boys' behavior. "Michael you want to hold Bailey's other hand?" Ava asked.

"Naw...I'm good. I'm braver then all three of these dorks." Michael spoke sarcastically but the other three guys just glared at Michael.

"Okay let's go!!!!" I yelled. Ashton and I went first. The stairs are broken into sections. So there is one set of stairs then a break kind of thing then another set of stairs. After that there is one more break and one more staircase. Ashton and I made it down the first two staircases fine but on the third one Ashton slipped on some ice and we slid down the last staircase. Luckily it was covered entirely in ice.

When we landed on the snow covered ground I burst out laughing. I have slid down these before. It's fun. I looked at poor Ashton who was petrified and just laid flat on his back, not moving except for the faint movement his stomach makes when he breathes.

"Ashton are you okay?" I knelt beside him. "Hello?"

He sat up. "I hate ice!" He declared. Then he stood up. By now the others were working on the final staircase where Ashton and I had slipped. They were all about halfway down when they also slipped and fell to the bottom. We all started laughing, even Ashton.

"Okay we're almost there!" I yelled over my shoulder as Ava and I led the pack of teenage boys up to the frozen waterfall. You have to climb to get to it and risk slipping on more ice but it's worth it once you get there. The falls are so frozen that you can actually walk behind them. The color in the ice is a bright blue but at some angles the sun hits it and looks like a mix of colors, like a rainbow. (Actual picture of the falls above that I took. It's not edited the colors are real and so is the waterfall)

We finally made it behind the falls. All six of us. The boys were amazed by what they were seeing. They must not have frozen, colorful, waterfalls in Australia. "Bailey, Ava, this is beautiful." Ashton said. Our hands awkwardly brushed against each other and I blushed. Crap...

"Thanks." Ava and I said in unison. It happens sometimes. We magically read each other's minds at times. Hahaha I wish.

After exploring the falls we all made the struggling effort to climb back up the icy stairs. Let's just say it resulted in a lot of bruises since we slid back down multiple times. We were laughing the whole time anyway...so it was more fun then painful.

When we got back to the top a few fans stopped the boys and asked for pictures. They happily agreed. It just reminded me that these guys were kinda famous and they were kinda only here for two more days...then it's Christmas Eve...and they'll be gone. And after Christmas they have to keep touring. Reality sucks basically. This is it then. I have little time to show that I really like all four of these guys and I don't want then forgetting about Ava or myself after they leave. I went up and hugged all four of them at once. Ava joined in. It felt nice to have a big group of weirdos as friends...I hope we are still friends after this tour and after they leave in a few days...because I love these guys!!! Ugh life.

When everyone pulled away we all went back into the van we had come in, I drove since Ava kinda sucks at driving, and we all went to Starbucks to get hot chocolate. I wanted to go to Caribou and so did Ava but the Australian boys wanted to be mainstream...

The rest of the day was fun. We went back to the hotel and played Just Dance. Luke sucked cause he is so awkward and clumsy...Ava and I rocked it. The other boys were all over the place, sometimes good, sometimes bad.

When it was finally time to go Ava and I said our goodbyes. We hugged each of them individually. Ashton hugged me tighter then the others and I couldn't help but feel like it meant something, even though it probably didn't. Reality...well at least I can consider these guys my friends now, or mates is what they call us. They are literally the best group of guys I've ever met.
