The next day...

Answer me!" Sam yelled, slamming his fists on the interrogation table. Blaire was grinning evilly, unintimidated by the now-furious agent.

"You don't do this very often, do you?", she mocked, fake-yawning at Sam.

"Sam, do not engage. She's only trying to rile you up.", Vision warned, eyes on the two. Wanda sat beside him, trying to get inside Blaire's mind.

"You can tell your friend to stop reading my mind, Wilbur.", Blaire stated, admiring the cuffs that bound her to the table. Wanda's eyes opened wide, exchanging glances with the android next to her.

Kara entered, along with Loki and Nat. "Anything?" The android shook his head. "Stubborn as ever." They all looked at Blaire to see her trying to yank the chains off, all while throwing insults at Sam.

"It's Wilson!", he cried out, cracking his knuckles. "Was that supposed to scare me, Wilbur?"

Loki snickered at this. "A familiar sight?", he teased, making Kara bump his elbow with hers. "Shut up."

The witch and the brunette caught glimpses of each other, but before Wanda could even muster a smile, Kara turned her back away.

"I think I better leave first. Wouldn't want to be hex bolted by accident.", Kara remarked, causing Loki and Natasha to meet gazes with Wanda. She slammed the door behind her as she left, leaving behind a broken-hearted friend. Vision took this opportunity to comfort her by wrapping her in his embrace.

"She'll come around.", the android cooed in her ear.

"Breaking news! The NYPD reports an increase in number of missing persons over the past few weeks. According to authorities, those abducted comprise of mostly teenagers or individuals in their early twenties. Police still have yet to discover the motive behind these kidnappings, and the link between the abducted. Adolescents are advised to stay in their homes, or have a chaperone with them as they leave the house.", the news reported announced. Kara couldn't believe her eyes.

"What's wrong?", a voice sounded from behind her. Captain Rogers took the empty spot on the sofa next to her, causing it to dip slightly due to the weight.

"It's him. Strucker. He's starting the experiments again.", she replied, eyes still glued to the screen. Steve followed her gaze and it landed on the pictures of the missing teens. He breathed heavily.

"We need to act fast. Blaire could be a great help locating Strucker, but she's too uncooperative.", he added. Kara bowed her head. "She hates my guts."

"How come?" Kara looked him in the eye, then sheepishly looked back down. "It's... a long story." Steve nodded in understanding. His eyes flickered to her now bare wrists. "Where are your bangles?"

"Oh, Loki removed them. Thanks to him, I was able to use my powers and stop Blaire.", she replied, her tone enthusiastic. The captain opened his mouth to say something, but seeing the twinkle in her eyes, settled for a nod.

"You look disappointed.", Kara commented, her smile faltering. "I'm just worried. What if something went wrong when you used your powers? You still don't have that much control over them-"

Kara scoffed. "I've been training, Cap. I know how to use them and control them already. Loki helped me in doing so." Steve felt a pang on his chest at the mention of the god's name.

"I thought you would be proud of me. That I finally put my abilities to good use. I guess you still don't trust me after all.", she continued, standing up. She was stopped by Steve taking her hand.
