Belle's POV
I stepped in to Arden's office unannounced.
"What are you doing here?" I questioned one of my bodyguard slash driver at Arden's office.
"Hi, Miss Belle. I was looking for your brother when Sir Langley called me to his office, instead," he replied, sitting stiffly, not leaning back.
"Is he bothering you?" I asked Arden, Arden walked up to me and pinning me to his side.
Was Arden tense? scared?
"Same as last time."He answers me.
"Why didn't you find me, I can get you Caleb. You know, I'm his sister, right?" I added, conversing with Greg, my bodyguard.
"I--." He paused, looking suddenly remorseful.
"You're scaring him, baby." Arden cut on Greg's word.
"Am I?" I asked not aware that I am being difficult with Greg. "What is it, Greg? You can tell me." I asked calmly, focusing my attention to Greg.
"Someone's been stalking you." Greg said straight, not beating around the bush.
"What?!" My voice in high pitch, no longer able to just silently stay put and listen. "Who's stalking me?" I asked, having my biggest fears confirmed when Greg looked nothing short of guilt-ridden.
"Noone, Belle," Arden said to calm me down, unknowing to my current predicament.
He proceeded to keep me positioned by his side but I soon escaped his tight hold, needing answers.
"Steely eyes? Tattooed covered arms?" I asked, aiming my enquiry at Greg. "He's following me because of? What?"
"What the hell, Belle?"
Arden appeared suddenly furious as he directed his question at me; his undeniably confused on the matter making me wary.
"Why didn't you tell me this was happening?" Arden asked, certainly picking his moments.
His desperate tone and anxious expression didn't sit well with me, though I didn't dare let on. I ignored Arden's questions and focused on Greg.
"I asked you a question, answer me," I demanded, not taking my eyes away from Greg's.
"We don't know the motive yet. But we are checking the background as we speak," he said.
"Does Caleb know? Or Dad and Mom?"
"No, not yet Miss Belle."
"When did you realize that someone's following me?"
"It's about a week now."
"When will you get the result of the background check."
"The day after tomorrow."
"Caleb will probably be home by then." I disclose.
"Thanks, Miss Belle. Will be accompanying you closely from now on."
"I know. Thank you, Greg." I acknowledge his loyalty and hard work. I know I'm at fault too. I should've said something the time I felt uneasy with that guy with covered arm tattoos. I knew it wasn't coincidence seeing that man over and over.
"Will just wait outside your office, Miss." He stands up and I nod in agreement.
"For fuck sake! Why didn't you tell me, someone's actually following you?," growled Arden, baring actual teeth. "We need to take legal action." Arden adds. "We need to file a police report, file a restraining order. Anything."
