Chapter 10

Dream's POV
2:00 PM, the bell rang. Everyone began to settle in their seats. I noticed Techno sitting alone in the corner. I decided to approach him. We're friends by now, right?

"Is this seat taken?" I asked, he didn't respond.

I plopped down, "I'll take that as a no,"

Glancing over at his book, I noticed he had a misspelling in one of his French words.

"You spelled that one wrong, theres no e."

He corrected it, and muttered a quiet 'thank you.'

Just then, the room went dark. The class erupted into whispers and some giggles. That was cut off by the distinct sound of clanging metal in the halls. The auto lockdown system. It enacted when there was a lockdown in place. It locked all doors, effectively trapping everyone in.

Not really useful, if there was someone dangerous inside. I thought.

I looked out the window, the sky had a weird hue of purple rather than cerulean blue. Just then, I saw 3 armed cars pull up to the school parking lot. Techno was looking at me, alarmed. Suddenly, the announcement turned on. It wasn't the principal.

"Hello students of Minetube High. I am Jschlatt, the CEO of Schlatt & Co. Recently, there has been an amount of supernatural activities going on. I regret to inform you, there are infected people with these abilities in this school right now. Don't panic, we have sent numerous guards to apprehend them. They are marked, we will be able to find them. Cooperate and you won't get hurt."

As if on cue, a mark on Techno's arm began to glow. It was the candy. At the same time, a guard busted in, decked in full armor, with an orange crest in the center.

Skeppy's POV:
I had not eaten the candy, and told Bad not to as well. I was paranoid something like this was going to happen. A6d was in another class, but he should be fine since he was a non. A guard had came in, and he began checking everyone's arm. My nerve budded, had Dream and Techno eaten the candy?

I looked over at Bad, he was pale as a ghost. His mouth was in a hard straight line and he was fidgeting his fingers. Just then, guard got to the mute boy sitting just 2 seats in front of us. I think his name was Mega? The small guy looked frozen in fear.

The guard grabbed his arm and lifted it up, revealing a vibrant glowing, green mark. Mega visibly flinched, he looked around at the class, most of which were struck with shock and horror. Even the teacher was frozen in place. Bad looked at me, I shook my head, although, I knew I couldn't stop him.

In a jolt of action, Bad stood up from his seat and dashed to the guard, kicking the man over. I hopped over my desk and jumped atop the man. I heard him let out a pained grunt. Bad then grabbed Mega and I, before bolting out the class.

A6d's POV:
I was skipping class, when the guards flooded in. There was at least 15 of them. They were all larger, older people. They immediately barked at me and 2 others to extend our arms and get against the wall. I complied. The woman scanning me had a rough grip, practically throwing me around. Finally, when she was done, she yelled at me to get to the cafeteria.

Just then, my phone buzzed.

Wilbur: Get to the back. I'll be there with a friend, we have a truck out.

Techno's POV:
The guard was getting closer and closer to my row. They had already apprehended the girl in front of me. Her name was Hanna. Hanna tried to fight the man off, but was immediately silenced by a tranquilizer. The kid next to her nearly fainted at the sight of blood. I was just worried Tommy could be in trouble.

My phone buzzed. Message from Wilbur.

The guard checked Dream's arm, he hadn't eaten the candy so he was good. Dream gave me a nervous look. I mouthed the words 'duck'. Finally, he stopped in front of me.

"Arm," the man said in his deep, gruff voice.

I bent down, pretending to give my arm, before grabbing my 5 textbook backpack and slamming it over his face. It flew over Dream's head as he ducked. He stumbled backwards, attempting to regain balance. Suddenly, Dream knocked his desk over, pushing the man down. We both took off. He screamed after us.

"Let's get out through the cafeteria. Wilbur has a truck outside."

Bad's POV:
My grip was iron strong on the small boy and Skeppy. I was scared it was too tight, but I couldn't worry about that right now. It was like the night before, only scarier. My ragged breath and hammering heart was all I can hear. I knew the guards were on my tail. I took a few twists and turns, attempting to lose them.

Just then, we ran into a dead end. There was nothing but the janitor's closet and a small window. Dread filled me, my heart was caught in my throat. We turned around. Sweat dripped down my face, my glasses fogged up. I hadn't ran so much in so long. There were two guards. They began approaching us, sick smiles visible on their faces.

Just then, a flash of blue ignited beside me, Skeppy's veins were glowing. A large barrier of blue crystals erected in front of us. The guards slammed right into it.

"Out the window!" Skeppy yelled, "quick!"

We lifted the boy up, he slipped out easily. Then, I boosted Skeppy up. It took him awhile to squirm through the opening.

Thud. Thud. They were breaking the crystals.

Skeppy reached out to me, I grabbed his arm.

Thud. Thud. He pulled me up.

SMASH! The wall broke.

The guards lunged forward.

I crawled out the window, their arms missed my leg by an inch.

The moment my feet hit the grass, we all took off. The sky was a weird shade of purple, but I didn't have time to look. We kept running until we saw a truck.
