Chapter 40;

In the meantime...

The last of the guests left the reception organized by vision, Jin and Noah greeted them cordially, but the truth was they couldn't wait for everybody to leave so that they could count their loot. "This evening was so long, Noah. And I don't wanna be the start of the evening next time." Jin said annoyed. "Who knows if there will be a next time! That depends on one thing only - money." Noah said. "Do you ever think about anything else but money, darling?" Jin asked. "Don't go there now, Jin! We have more important things to do." Noah said annoyed. "Fine, but later I'm gonna make you pay for every raised eyebrow and every look full of hatred you gave me." Jin said. "Tell me, what's next? Are we sticking to out plan?" Noah asked. "Y/n is no longer standing in our way, so you should forget about her. Much bigger things are at stake now, such as this building and everything else owned by vision." Jin said. "You know we can't use these donations for that. Do you have a bakcup plan?" Noah asked him. "This isn't a backup plan, Noah. This was my goal from the beginning. You just forgot it in the meantime." Jin said. "I've done everything I could." Noah said sad. "That's why I took things into my own hands. All you have to do is follow me... and love me..." Jin said.

Noah was looking at Jin completely charmed and happy for any attention she was getting from him. She was like a stray dog left in the street, which felt the warmth of another being after a very long time. I was feeling sorry for her in some weird way, but she brought everything on herself. 

"I'm completely devoted to you, Jin. I hope the feeling's mutual..." Noah said. "Yes, Noah. We're partners in crime. If one of us goes down -we'll both go down. But if we raise above everything, we'll be rich and free somewhere far away from here." Jin explained. "That day is coming soon.... I can feel it." Noah said.

Noah couldn't even imagine how right she was.

A couple of hours later...

It had been a while since the last time Jimin, Hoseok, Taehyung, Jane and I were in the same room together. A friend in need is a friend indeed. Every one of us continues with our lives, but they were still there for me and that gave me strenght and hope for a better tomorrow. I wasn't alone.

"Thet're here! They asnwered my calls in the middle of the night." Jane said. "I believe that they wanna bring the culprit to justice, just as we do." I said. "Let's tell them what this is all about." Taehyung said.

We chose a table at the very end of the bar so that we could have more privacy. We watched the video together and we told them out theory. "Now that we have some kind of evidence in our hands, I need to know something, can I trust you?" I asked. "Of course you can, Y/n. I believe everyone agrees with me." Hoseok answered. "I'll be there for you whatever you need." Jimin said. "We need you to safely store these videos in several places 'cause we plan to use them to blackmail Noah ."Jane explained. "Yes, they're only in my phone for now, but that's not exactly the safest way to store something that important. And you have to keep the videos a secret." I explained. "Can Y/n count on your discretion?" Taehyung asked them. "Of course!" They both said. "Is there anything else we can do for you, Y/n?" Jimin asked. "Don't tell a soul about our deal! Also, don't tell anyone we met tonight." I said. "Fine... I have no reason to talk to others about it." Jimin said. "It's late... I don't think anyone saw us, but I won't talk about this, don't worry. How did the charity event go? I saw the news..." Hoseok asked. "Me too... I got angry and turne the tv off! What a charade!" Jimin said annoyed. "Jane, tell them everything you witnessed there. It's time for you to find out what Noah was hiding from me, and from all of us." I said mad. "Listen carfully..." Jane said.

She bent a bit over the table and started talking about her adventure.

Half an hour later...

"Jane, I have to congratulate you on your resourcefullness, and you, Y/n, on your bravery." Hoseok said proud of us. "I had no idea you two girls could be such an amazing team." Jimin said. "Thanks, but Jane made it all happen." I said proud. "Maybe she found her new career. Jane, what do you think about becoming a secret agent?" Taehyung asked. "Stop messing with me! I don't look like a secret agent at all!" Jane said annoyed. "We'll call you Mata Hari from now on!" I said. That joke about Jane being a secret agaent made us laugh and reduced the tension which ruled among us. Although we were all trying to act like adults, it was hard for us to forget the past.

"What's your next move, Y/n?" Hoseok asked. "I'm open for suggestions. Although, I'd love to put my cards on the table tonight. I'm sick and tired of waiting!" I said. "Don't forget that the morning is wiser than the evening." Jimin said. "And what if it's too late for everything in the morning." Taehyung asked. "We have a hour tops till the dawn... We don't have much time left." Hoseok said. "Ahem.. I don't know about you, but I'm dead tired." Jane said. "Oh,Jane! I completely forgot I left Jungkook alone with Yoongi!" I said shocked. "You're not the only one who forgot about that... We have enough time to return to the village before Jungkook waked up." Taehyung said. "We have to go! We'll stay in touch and don't forget - don't tell anyone a word about this!" I said hurried. "You can count on that." Jimin said and Hoseok nodded. "The only thing we have to do now is think of the best tactics. We should cover all the locations where Noah could show up." I suggested. "We need to observe the company and your house, Y/n." Taehyung explained. "We have a deal then... I'll take care of Jungkook while you follow Noah. Use the moment when she's alone and drive her into a corner." Jane said. "That's exactly what we'll do, Jimin, you'll observe my house and call me if you see Noah." I said. "Okay, I'll try to keep a low profile." Jimin said. "Even if someone notices you, it won't be a problem. People are used to seeing you around my house 'cause you worked for the company. Hoseok, I'd like you to go back to the village with Jane and take care of her and Jungkook." I told Hoseok. "I will, they will be safe." Hoseok said. "Taehyung, you have to observe the company. It's only logical." I told Taehyung. "That's exactly what I wanted to suggest." Taehyung said. "Excellent plan, Y/n." Jane said excited. "The safest thing for me right now is to return to the hotel room and wait for you to call me." I said.

We said our goodbyes and went our seperate ways. We were scared, but also excited to bring Noah and Jin to justice.
