Chapter 46; shot

"One more thing... The police wanted me to be careful. I'm still in danger." I said. "Why would Jin be after you?" Taehyung said. "Right... He's proably angry about losing Noah's support and I'm sure he's looking for her." Jane said. "I wouldn't ne surprised if they ended up together." I said annoyed. "Nah... Those two are exactly the same, and we all know opposites attract." Taehyung said. "Somebody is really romantic today!" Jane laughed. "Oh, stop it, I'm gonna blush!" I said. "You shouldn't be ashamed of your love. You should show it off." Jane said. "Jane, tell her that love is the cure for everything." Taehyung told Jane. "I know that very well, I'm just pretending" I said. "I can easily imagine you loving each other with the same intensity for the next 50 years." Jane said excited. "Cheers to that! We'll have to wait and see!"I said. "Is that a challenge, Y/n?" Taehyung asked. "Yes tae!" I said looking at him. "Then I accept the challenge and I can't wait!" Taehyung said happy. "Wait a minute. Y/n, does this mean I'll make a wedding cake soon?" Jane asked excited.

I didn't know how to answer her question, but I figured out how to wiggle my way out of it when Jungkook interruped our conversation and saved me. "Cake?! Jane, you said something about a cake! Where is it?" Jungkook asked excited. "Jungkook, you had enough sweets for today!" Jane said stern. "And don't eavesdrop on adults conversations. It's rude." Taehyung said. "Okay..." Jungkook said sad. "You're too strict with him..." I said.

I stood up and joined Jungkook and Yoongi. I played with them 'cause I didn't want Jungkook to be sad. "Jane will be a wonderful mother one day..." Jane said. "I think so too. I adore her." Taehyung said. "I can see how much you love her by the way you're looking at her. You can't hide that." Jane said. "I hope she sees that too. But Jane we have to go soon. We'll leave Yoongi with you and Jungkook. For now.." Taehyung said. "Don't worry about that. Thanks for fixing the window and chopping the firewood." Jane said. "You're welcome. I also added a latch on your door. Don't open the door anymore." Taehyung said. "You got it." Jane said. "And I'd like to ask you for a favor... Can you pack up a muffin. I wanna surprise Y/n later." Taehyung asked. "Of course. She won't see me, I'll be careful." Jane said. 

We said goodbyes and went back to my house. I could finally go inside without being afraid I'd be arrested. It was time for me to take back everything I'd lost.

Later that day I found myself in my house again, but I felt like I didn't belong here. I could feel Noah's presence in every corner of the room and everything there reminded me of my painful past. "How do you feel right now? Could you live here again?" Taehyung asked. "I'm not sure Tae... Even now I feel sad when I remember my father an the times we spent together." I explained. "Maybe redecorating this place could help. You could bring stuff you hold dear and which reminds you of happier times." Taehyung suggested. "I could bring back blissful moments we had together. I remember how happy and carefree we used to be." I said. "We can create that life for us again." Taehyung suggested. "I'm looking forward to that too." I said excited. "Just say the word and I'll move in today!" Taehyung said. "Of course, honey!" I said happy. "I'm so relieved now that I know that!" Taehyung said happily. "I wanted to suggest that myself, but I was afraid it was too soon." I explained. "It's not... You're my fiancee... My greatest love. Why would you think it was too soon?" Taehyung asked and that melted my heart. "Because of this situation with Jin... I though now wasn't the right time to think about moving in together." I explained. "I don't think that..." He said and he looked at me with his playful eyes looking for the truth on my face. I loved when he looked at me like that. It would always make me smile, just like that time... He took my hand and touched my engagement ring. He brought my hand closer to his lips and kissed me so gentle that I could feel his warmth breath. Suddenly, I felt excitement I couldn't hide even if I tried.

"I love you, Y/n. I wanna spend every minute of my life with you. I wanna wake up with you every morning and I wanna grow old with you." Taehyung said. "I'd wait a bit with growing old, but the rest sounds amazing!" I jumped into his arms. I was happy to know that even I lost everything, I could count on him. My support and my strength - my love. That tiny, but precious moment of true happiness was interrupted by Taehyung's phone. I was brought back tor reality. 

"It's the office... I have to take this." Taehyung said. "That's weird... Why didn't they call me?" I asked. Taehyung was frowning while he was talking on the phone which wasn't a good sign. "What's going on Tae?" I asked. "They've just told me that the company's bank account has been cleaned out!" Taehyung said shocked. "It could only be Noah or Jin!" I said mad. "We have to go there and check it out. I'm just afraid that one of them might be around." Taehyung explained. 

We ran out of the house and rushed to the company building.

After half an hour, we found ourselves in front of vision. It was very peaceful there. Too peaceful... There were no passers-by and there was no security at the building entrance. "This doesn't feel right..." I said afraid. "I'm already imaging the worst thing that could happen." Taehyung said. "Don't think about it until we find out what's going on. Maybe the security workers are on a break. Or maybe they're inside... It's cold." I explained. "Let's go inside and see what's going on. Stay close to me, Y/n. And don't be a herp if things get complicated." Taehyung said. "You're my hero!" I said smiling. "I'm not kidding, Y/n. If something unpredictable happens, I want you to run." Taehyung said looking at me. "No honey, I won't run away and leave you hanging!" I said. "I can defend myself, Y/n. But you can't..." Taehyung said. "Hmmm You'll make me consider enrolling for a self-defense class." I said. "Every woman has to know how to defend herself. Your situation is very serious and for now it's better not to provoke your enemy with your presence." Taehyung explained. "But there's nobody here..." I said.

Then I heard footsteps somewhere behind us. I turned around and saw someone standing there and pointing at me with his hand. At first I couldn't recognize his face because of the sun rays shining directly at it. "Hey... Look... Someone's standing there and pointing at us." I said. "Who?! Move... Stand behind me, Y/n." Taehyung said. He waited for our reaction and when he was sure we saw him, he started walking toward us. It was Jin. He was holding his briefcase in one hand, while his other hand was in his pocket.

"Hello, Y/n. I've been expecting you.." Jin said. "Quickly! Call the cops! Tell them where this bastard is!" I yelled. "HAHAHA! Yeah right. You won't have time to do that!" Jin said with a smirk. "Y/n, let's run inside! Don't talk to him!" Taehyung said and he strongly grabbed my hand and led me to the front door.

"You can run, Y/n, but you can't hide from me. I'm not like your sister Noah. I don't leave my business unfinished. Goodbye, Y/n." Jin said. I was running away, but I couldn't help myself. I had to turn around and look at Jin. He waved at me and then he pulled out a gun from his pocket and pointed it at me. At that moment, Noah showed up at the door. I thought I was seeing things. She came out and pushed me to the side. "Noah!" I yelled. "Move, Y/n! Run inside! This is my fight!" Noah said. I wanted to stay and see what was gonna happen ,but they didn't let me. 

"You still haven't run away from the town, Noah? And I gave you a chance!" Jin said. "You idiot! I'm sick of you and everything you got me into! I couldn't care less cause guess what? I have nothing to lose?!" Noah yelled. "Oh, but you do Noah. You still have a sister! And I'm about to take her away from you too! But first... It's your turn!" Jin said. "Jin stop! You can't do this! Noah, come with us!" I yelled. "Are you crazy, Y/n!" Taehyung yelled who was holding my hand. "Stay out of it, Y/n. This story ends my way!" Noah yelled. "Who's faster, Noah? 3.... 2..." Jin counted. 

Determined more than ever, Jin lifted his gun and grinned. He looked creepy! Noah didn't waste her time trying to convince Jin into anything. She pulled her gun out and pointed it at Jin. They were standing face to face holding each other at gunpoint. I unconsciously made a step back. A second after that, I heard one gunshot. Or more... Jin was shot! He dropped his briefcase. It opened and the money flew out of it... He fell on the ground and remained lying there motionlessly. Gunshots echoed in my head, and I couldn't see anything around me anymore. We could hear the police siren in the distance which meant the show was over.
