2nd person POV.

You wanted to talk to C/n, you really did.

But one, you were scared, and 2 well... you were scared... there's practically no other reason.

You always wondered how would it feel if you walked up to him and just ripped his heart out?

Because that's how you feel he's treating you.

You feel like you're slowly losing the boy you... well... love...

You started dating C/n after he asked you out last year, but lately he's gotten distant...

You blame it on being senior year and you're all leaving for college soon... but wouldn't that make him spend more time with you than less time?

You ask him to hang out and go on dates with you, they don't have to be extravagant, all you wanted to to spend time with him.

But every time, he lies.

Time and time again, the boy lies about what he's doing.

You wanna hang out, he makes an excuse for not going, like helping his mom or babysitting his cousins, but then you find out from B/f/n, who is his best friends cousin, that he's hanging out with his friends.

But you still want to be with him... even if he's lying to your face... which is kinda stupid in all honesty.

Slowly... you're losing the boy you've grown to love, you've had a crush on him since the 3rd grade and now you're high schoolers, seniors to be exact, and going into college... how will that work out? Would it just be easier to break up? Long distance?

You honestly didn't know anymore.

So you decided to confront him about it.

"Hey..." you say when you got to his locker.

"Hey Y/n." He says

"Can I talk to you?" You ask

"We're talking right now?" He chuckles

He turns to look at your face and you have a serious expression.

"Meet me at the tree... our tree." You say and walk away.

He frowns and thinks.

What would you want to talk about?

He met you after school and you were sitting on one of the branches of the tree.

Your initials were carved onto the branch, and on the trunk of the tree as well.

You traced the carving of your initials that were inside the heart with your finger.

You sigh and already felt like crying, you thought you'd never have to have this talk with him.

But well, here we are.

He climbs the tree after getting out of the car.

You look down to se whim climbing and scoot over then turn around, facing the trunk of the tree.

He gets to the branch and sits, facing you.

"What's up?" He asks

"Why are you lying to me?" You ask

He's taken aback.

"You say that you can't hang out with me because you're babysitting or some other lame excuse, but b/f/n told me you're hanging out with your friends. You've been... distant..." you say

He stares at you for a moment.

The tears were welling up in your eyes as you stared at the boy in front of you.

"Why?" You ask

He looks down at the ground.

"I feel like we lost the connection we once had... so I thought if I just became distant... you'd leave me. But you haven't." He says

'Is he saying... what I think he's saying?' You think.

"You don't like me anymore?" You ask

He stares at you and slowly nods.

Your heart hurts and you feel like you can't breathe.

But you have to accept it.

You can't force someone to love you.

"I felt like I've been losing you for a while... I guess I've already lost you a long time ago." You say

"Well..." you say, sniffling, wiping your eyes a lot.

"I guess we're... over." You say

He looks at you and slowly nods, feeling hurt by the breakup, but he started this.

"I just want you to know that... I'm grateful. So grateful for the time we spent together. You gave me some of the happiest memories I have. The days I was with you were the best, and I was so happy. Thank you for that." You say

You scoot over and kiss his cheek one last time.

You climb down to the branch below and stop for a moment.

"C/n?" You ask, looking up at the boy.

He looks down at you with some tears in his eyes.

"I just want you to know that... I love you. And even though we're broken up now, I'll still love you. You're the kind of person I can't forget." You say.

He stares at you in shock.

Even though you've been together for a year, you never said those three words together.

You take a shaky breath in and climb down the tree.

You walk off into the distance towards your car, wiping the tears as you went.

'I love you... but I never thought I'd ever be losing you'

BRO ITS BEEN LIKE 2 WEEKS I'M SO SORRYYYYY.
Anyways, yup this is off schedule lol.
And oh my god I ended it with a sad ending, THAT IS SO NOT LIKE ME.
Anyways, next chapter will (hopefully) be the other song in this collab!
