The above photo is a rough idea of how Sid looks but it is up to you if you want to imagine him otherwise. It's your choice
~Sid~
I woke up the next morning with Sam splashing water on my face. I quickly sat up and gave Sam my best death glare. "Sorry. It's twelve in the afternoon. You weren't waking up."
"My God! It's late." I ran my fingers through my hair quickly and shook my head to shake off the excess droplets of water. She threw her head back and laughed. I looked at her in confusion. She doubled over laughing, clutching her stomach. She struggled to find the right words to say. That's when it hit me. Oh not again. She pranked me. Again.
"Oh God. Not again Sam."
"I'm sorry. It's always funny." She said, still laughing. I shook my head, got up from the bed and stood up to leave, without talking to her. She grabbed my hand to stop me.
"Sorry na. Don't be mad." She apologised, giving me her puppy dog look. I sighed.
"Fine. Apology accepted." She grinned and kissed my cheek.
"Now go and get changed. I made breakfast." She patted my hand and left the room, giving me privacy. I brushed my teeth, took a shower and slipped into a pair of jeans and a black shirt. I went downstairs to see that only Sam was there sitting on the table, waiting for me. When I came down, she blew out a breath.
"Finally. I saved you a piece of cake that dida had made. They have all gone out so you're safe. Eat it quickly." She said, sliding the plate across the table. Dida made the best cakes. I grabbed the spoon and dug in. It was a reasonable piece so it was enough for me. After I was done I set it down on the sink.
"So where are the others?"
"Well they went out for a run but I had done that with Ash already so I didn't go. Besides who would have saved you the cake if I had gone leaving you here?"
"Well you could have woken me up."
"Well you were having nightmares again so I didn't take my chances. I put a dreamless spell on you. I'm worried." Yeah well my nightmares had started again after the whole Hamla thing.
I sighed. "Yeah you're right."
"Hey now come on. We all love you. You were always the one who took the blame whenever we were mischievous. I shared it with you but you always stood up first. Anyway you have to go on an assignment. I know very sudden and right after my engagement party but I think you should read the details." She said passing me an envelope which read 'Confidential Information.' "I would understand if you don't wanna go." Sam continued. "You know after the nightmares. I can go if you want to."
"No no. I'll go. So I'll just read it." I said and opened the envelope which had the information about the mission.
"Hey I can come with you if you want?"
"No it's fine. You just got engaged. Besides I can handle it. Anyway did dad decide yet?"
"Well he had narrowed it down to us but I stepped down."
"What?!"
"Yeah because I don't want to. I can't handle not going on field missions. Besides I'm engaged now." She said showing me her left hand where the ring sat on her ring finger.
"Okay. Thanks. A lot."
"No problem."
This was turning out to be the worst mission. I had been to three different locations and nothing. No trace of Vikram Chatterjee. He was one of the underworld kings who had resurfaced. Only him as far as I knew. Hopefully. But it was weird. Sam had taken care of him years ago.
Anyway now I was in a cave and I had no idea what to do. My bracelet suddenly lit up. It was a message from Sam. I sighed. Call me asap. I did.
"Hello. Sid here." I whispered. Who knew how many monsters lurked in the corners of this cave.
"I know it's you. Anyway its about the cave. This cave is known for Transcota. It's useful for killing and keeping demons away so hopefully you won't be facing any demons there. Although there might be a lot of werewolves."
I knew what Transcota was and what it did. It was a kind of herb that kept demons and vampires away. It was a green plant with violet flowers. The flowers were the ones that kept demons and vampires away. "Thanks for the information. I'll get going..."
"No wait. There's more. There are a lot of Trasas there. Be careful. Transcota won't work on them. Ok bye."
"Copy that. Over and out." Wow. Transcota and Trasas. Good God. I've hit jackpot. Transcota wasn't bad, it was actually useful but Trasas. They were nasty creatures. They were literally heartless creatures with a head of a lion and body of a human with claws. I heard a noise from around the corner. I drew my crossbow and slowly advanced towards the noise with my back against the wall.
I peaked from behind the wall to take a look and almost screamed.
