I saw Sam on the floor clutching her arm from which blood was oozing steading. She held in her unhurt arm a dagger, that same dagger stained with blood. Not just at the tip but till the hilt. Her hands and the floor were covered with blood. Right beside her lay an assassin with his throat split.
She looked up and her eyes met mine. She smiled weakly and slowly got up. I locked the door and quickly rushed to her side. I inspected the wound on her hand. It looked like a stab mark. "It's going to need stitches. I don't think I can heal it." I said after some time. She nodded her head and limped towards the bedside table. Wait she was also limping? What the hell? She opened the drawer and took out a small stitching kit and rubbing alcohol.
She handed them to me and sat down on the bed, waiting. I sat down beside her and stained a piece of cotton with the antiseptic. I dabbed the cotton stained antiseptic on her wound which made her hiss with pain. I blew on it and repeated until I was satisfied. I disinfected the needle with antiseptic and carefully started stitching her wound. She clutched the sheets in a death grip until her knuckles had turned white and clenched her jaw. I finished it pretty quickly and admired my handiwork. "Well this wound needs to be open for sometime. Now let's take a look at your leg."
She tried to move her injured leg but flinched. "Ow ow ow ow." She put her leg down. I pulled the Ottoman towards the bed and lifted her leg and set it on the Ottoman. I rolled up her jeans where there was a big gash on her calf. I grabbed a glass and poured water in it from the water bottle. She dipped her toe in it and I willed it to heal her wound. It snaked its way towards her calf healing it and then towards the stitch mark on her arm which disappeared. I set the glass aside and looked down at the dead body with a frown.
"He was a vampire. There was also two Trasas." She spoke for the first time since I came in. "Wait for a while. It will disappear." I sat down beside her. I took her face in my hands and kissed her lips. She kissed me back hungrily. I wrapped my arms around her waist. She flinched away from me, clutching her side.
"You broke your ribs too?"
"Technically I didn't break them. That vampire did." She massaged her ribs. "They're actually undergoing healing process so it hurts."
"I'm sorry." I whispered suddenly. She turned to me. "I shouldn't have shouted at you."
"Its ok. I'm sorry too for saying that. I didn't mean it." She apologised, looking guilty. I cupped her face in my hands.
"Hey don't be guilty. I should be the one to be guilty. Anyway I wanted to know that...." Her small laugh cut me off.
"When I had dated him and for long?" She finished. I nodded feeling a little guilty and horrible to ask such a question right when we had made up, but curiousity got the better of me. Her brows furrowed a little in thought. "It was, I guess, in 1980s. Not before that. I dated him for about two months." She said and finally looked at me. I nodded and looked away. I didn't know what to answer.
Sam broke the silence. "I think we should move the body before the humans discover it." I nodded and patched things up real quickly. The vampire's body had disappeared so hopefully it's a good sign. After we finished scrubbing the blood off of the floors we crashed on the bed and ordered room service.
"So you think we should tell someone about it? You know, the note and assassin?" Sam asked, after we were done with the meal and they had cleared everything off.
"Who do you think we should inform?" I asked.
"Ashley and Sid, of course. I don't like this anymore than you do, but we can't pretend like everything is okay when it's not. More people could get hurt that way."
"You're right. We should tell them. But tomorrow. Let's enjoy at least for today." Sam smiled and nodded her head in agreement.
"What do you have in mind?"
"You know, we have the whole night to ourselves." I smirked. She grinned and came closer, her face inches away from mine. I captured her lips with mine and wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer. Her hands found my neck, deepening the kiss. This ought to be fun.
