They pulled me roughly out of my bed and shoved me inside the bathroom. I sleepily brushed my teeth, taking my own sweet time. When I splashed water on my face, that's when it hit me. Today was my other big day. I quickly took a shower and padded out of my bathroom wrapped in a towel. I came out of the bathroom and I jumped back. Ashley and dida stood in front of me with the dress in her hands and dida had makeup supplies in her hand. They both looked like they would gobble me up and my dress and makeup supplies were their weapons.
Ash~
I felt cold water splashed on me and I immediately sat up. I looked around wildly and then my eyes landed on Sid laughing loudly. "Man Sam was right. It does work." He said, his voice hitching from laughter. I narrowed my eyes and snapped my fingers. I was dry in a second.
"Why did you wake me up anyway?"
Sid looked like I was mad and he could beat me up at the same time. He took a deep breath and composed himself. I looked at him, confused. What the hell was going on? "Rack your brains. Come on think." He said, giving me a knowing pointed look.
I thought hard and that's when it hit me. Today was my other big day. He looked relieved that I had finally remembered. "Thank you. Now let's get you dressed"
Sam~
I looked at myself in the floor-length mirror in my room and I admit, I was a little shocked to see myself look so beautiful. On my first big night I wasn't so surprised because I had dressed up like mom. But today. Wow. Just wow. It was an off shoulder white dress with long bell sleeves which thankfully covered my henna. It was ankle-length in white floral lace with knee-length satin. The plain white stilettos went amazingly well with the dress. The veil had been pinned and put in place. My face had just the right amount of makeup and my hair was in a chignon.
"Can't believe, right?" Ashley said, standing beside me and grinning. She was wearing a light blue sleeveless dress with frills at its hem. She was one of my bridesmaids. Dida too was wearing the same dress. Her hair was loose on her shoulders whereas dida's hair was tied into a bun decorated with multi-coloured stone pins.
"Can't believe it." I slowly turned to face them. "I'm getting married." I said in a small voice.
Dad stood by at the end of the aisle which was decorated with bouquets of flowers on the top lining the aisle on either side. There were rows of benches on either side and on the altar stood the minister with his hands clasped in front of him. On the left Ash stood, his hands clasped in front of him, looking stunning in his black suit with Sid his best man standing diagonally behind him. I hooked my arm around my dad's arm, who too was wearing a black suit.
The band played a soft music when we slowly walked down the aisle, clutching my bouquet of roses close to my chest. Behind us walked Ashley and dida. "Honey you look beautiful. Your mother would have been happy." He whispered.
I smiled. "Thank you. I think mom is seeing all this from above. I'm nervous."
"It's okay to be nervous. Remember one thing. After this you will get to spend the rest of your life with Ash. So don't be nervous. You will be great."
Ash~
I stood there nervously. "Hey don't be nervous." Sid whispered in my ear.
"Easy for you to say. You're not the one who's getting married." I retorted.
"You'll be fine." He assured. I looked at him, narrowing my eyes. He gestured towards the aisle and I turned to see Sam walking down the aisle with Clint beside her, hand in hand. She looked breathtakingly beautiful. I could make out her legs through the material of her dress. She was perfect.
They stopped in front of me and I offered Sam my hand. Clint placed her hand in mine and we both faced the minister. Ashley and dida flanked Sam standing behind her. "Dearly beloved, friends and family, today we have gathered here on this joyous occasion of joining Samantha Johnson and Asher James in the strings of holy matrimony." The minister's voice boomed. After we exchanged our vows, "Do you Samantha Johnson, take Asher James as your lawfully wedded husband?" The minister asked.
"I do." Sam answered, stealing a quick glance at me.
"Do you Asher James, take Samantha Johnson, as your lawfully wedded wife?" He asked me.
"I do." I answered, stealing a quick glance at her. We faced each other and exchanged rings.
"I now pronounce you both husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." He said, smiling. I caught her lips in mine and placed my hands on her hips. She kissed me back and wrapped her arms around my neck to deepen the kiss. The crowd broke into an applause but I wasn't aware of anyone around me other than Sam. My life, my everything.
