~Sid~

I peaked from behind the wall and gasped almost audibly. I had thought I had come across some vicious werewolves but it turned out to be Ashley. She had growled as she ripped someone's head off with her bare hands. She huffed and stood up, dusting her hands. She turned around and her eyes landed on mine. Her mouth curled into a snare but I came in front of her so that she could recognise me.

Her face turned normal and she smiled. "Hey. What are you doing here?"

"Well same as you." I said trying to keep my hands from shaking. She looked shockingly beautiful in her all-black attire with her hair tied into a ponytail. But now her ponytail had come undone and there was smear of blood across her left cheek. Her golden eyes seemed to glow in the dark.

I cleared my throat. "Wait you're a vampire right? How are you, so um, resistant to Transcota?"

"Oh well I'm not a full vampire. I'm a hybrid. I'm part dragon rider. So I don't have any problem."

"Oh. Wow." She didn't look like a dragon rider. I looked at her more closely. That's when I realised that her golden eyes were a sign that she was part dragon-rider.

"So, do you have a dragon?"

"Yeah actually I do. Onyxia. She is actually outside."

"Oh. So that explains the golden eyes."

"Yeah. So you're also here for Vikram Chatterjee right?"

"Yup. I have GPS. We're not that far away." I said switching on my bracelet and checking it. There was a blue dot indicating Ashley's presence. We both followed the GPS when we reached a broad dimly lit hallway. Our path was blocked by a huge chasm in front of us. We both stopped in front of it. I leaned a little to see what was underneath. It appeared to be a dark void. I looked straight ahead but I couldn't make out how much distance the chasm spread.

"It's stretching approximately five miles. Give or take. There isn't enough space to walk around it." Ashley said, her eyes filled with concentration. She looked so damn beautiful. I shook my head. Focus Sid. Focus.

"Any idea how we are gonna cross it?"

"Well I could call my dragon."

"But are you sure? There isn't enough room for a dragon to fly." I said and looked up. I turned out to be wrong. There was enough space. I looked away so that she wouldn't be able to see my embarrassed expression. I turned to see that she had her eyes were closed and her brows were furrowed with focus.

Ashley~
I reached out to Onyxia in my mind. I showed her in my mind where I was and what we needed. She send me back images of her flying towards us. I grinned sending her my gratitude and opened my eyes. I turned to see that Sid was looking at me like I was mad.

I chuckled. "What? Can't a girl just call out to her dragon anymore?"

Sid smiled. "Of course. It's just....I've never known a dragon rider before."

"Man we need to get you into a club and make you hook up with girls."

"No thanks. I'm good."

"Oh sorry. You're gay?"

"What? No. I'm straight."

"Ok." Just then I sensed my dragon was nearby. Sid looked up to see that Onyxia was flying overhead. She descended down in front of me. Onyxia was a large dragon with red scales on her body combined with patches of blue, green and yellow hues here and there. Her eyes were midnight blue, reminding me of the night sky.

She leaned down and I mounted on top of her with Sid behind me. I didn't need to tell her what to do. She took off in the air and the momentum made Sid wrap his arms around my torso. Onyxia crossed the chasm with no difficulty and she landed on the other side. I dismounted and Sid landed beside me in a crouch. I could already hear the noise coming from a distance. I crept along the wall and Sid mimicked me. This was going to be nasty.

The noises were becoming clearer and clearer. I realised with a jolt that I could literally hear the eerie silence. There was something wrong. Terribly wrong. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I jumped and turned around, ready to rip off my enemy's head. Sid just gaped. Oh shoot! I had completely forgotten about him. I let my hands fall to my sides. "Sorry." I said, my face feeling hot.

"It's ok, but I think it's a trap. I mean it is eerily silent. There is no one out there. What do you think it means?"

"Well it can only mean one thing." We both looked at each other, knowing what was awaiting us.
