Chapter 14

~Sid~

"Do you have to go?" I whined as I helped put Sam's last suitcase in the car dikki and closed it. She smiled and shook her. She turned to face me. I had to admit she did look nice in that red full-sleeves zip-up top that I had given her for her birthday. She had paired it up with black jeans and white converse. Her hair was tied in a French braid by dida.

She pouted. "Come on Sid. Be supportive. Anyway I'll be flying back and forth. I'll come meet you soon after honeymoon before taking off to Washington." I hugged her tightly. I released her and she hugged everyone, including Vishal. He seemed a little surprised but hugged Sam back nevertheless.

"Call me once you are inside the plane and also..." Dad started.

"Call you after I land in Paris and also once I reach the hotel. After checking in also. Got it." Sam finished giving dad a thumbs up.

"Ok honey. We need to get going." Ash said kissing Sam.

"Yeah okay. Well then bye everyone. Anything happens don't hesitate to call. I love you all. Bye." Sam said waving at us, with a smile plastered on her face. She got into the passenger seat of the car. Ash sat in the back and Ashley was in the driver's seat. The engine revved into life and she drove away. They all waved at us as the car started moving forward. We all kept waving until the car was out of sight.

"I'm gonna miss her." Sammy said, his eyes tearing up. Oh god. He was the most sensitive one out of our group and only Sam was capable of consoling him.

"Sam come back. Sammy's crying." I called out, knowing very well that she could not hear me. Sammy smiled through his tears. Vishal rubbed his back comfortingly. Vishal hugged him and Sammy hugged him back, sobbing silently on his shoulder. A year fell from dida's eye.

"You're not alone. We all will miss her." I said, looking at the clear morning sky.

Ashley~

"You suck at singing Ash. Please stop it. We will die." I said from the driver's seat of my car as Ash continued to sing Cold Water by Justin Bieber along with the radio.

Sam laughed. "Think about it in this way. I'm stuck with that," she said pointing to Ash singing, "with the rest of my life. You on the other hand are not."

" Yeah you're right. Okay now stop. Now let Sam sing Bang Bang. The Hindi version, of course." I said and Ash stopped singing looking at Sam.

She chuckled and started singing along with the radio. I was literally dumbstruck and spellbound by her singing. My jaw dropped to the floor and I had to concentrate hard to keep my eyes on the road and not gape at her voice. When she stopped singing I asked, "Why did you become a spy? You should've become a singer. I would be your biggest fan." I remarked chuckling. Then a song came on the radio and Ash started singing. I rolled my eyes internally.

" Anyway, got any gossip. It's been long since I've heard any."

"Yeah well Sid likes someone." She said shifting in seat to look at me. I glanced at her in acknowledgment and then put my eyes back on the road again.

"Who?" I asked excited, whipping my head to look at her. In the excitement, I lost control over my car. I narrowly missed hitting the divider and running into another car.

"I don't think I'll live long enough to tell you."

"Ok fine. Haha. Very funny. Now tell me who does he like?" I asked, not taking my eyes off of the road. I pulled into the driveway of the airport, paying my ten bucks and stopped in front of the entrance of the airport.

I turned to look at Sam who was now sharing a look with Ash. I sighed dramatically.  "Ok let's play guessing game. You give me s hint, I'll answer. You just have to yes or no. That way you're not technically telling me." I suggested looking at either of them. They both shared one last look before Sam turned to me.

"Okay, um, he is my brother." Sam said vaguely, looking unsure. I laughed.

"Okay um, Ro, Ra?" I guessed.

"Nope you're wrong. Try again." Ash said, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. I furrowed my eyebrows and stayed like that for about ten minutes when Sam interjected,

"This could take a while. I'll break it to you. Sid likes you." And my jaw dropped to the floor. I first looked at Sam and then at Ash.
