Xiao Zhan arrived at his workplace punctually at 8 o'clock as usual, unlocked the door to group 2, stepped through it and stopped in surprise when a stranger suddenly stood in front of him. "Good morning." Said Zhan shyly, because he immediately guessed who the stranger was.

"Good morning, and who are you?" The stranger asked.

"I'm the social worker here, Xiao Zhan."

"Wang Yibo, your new manager!" Yibo replied sharply.

"Pleased to meet you. Shall I show you around?" Asked Zhan politely, as it is his way.

"Every house here in Gusu Lan is built the same way, so there's nothing you can show me."

"Oh, um, okay. So you've worked here before?"

"Yes. In another house. If you don't have anything else, go to work."

"Oh, uh, yeah, immediately." Zhan replied and almost ran to the locker room.

Zhan wondered if he had annoyed his new boss with anything, since his new manager answered him so harshly and looked so cold. But he couldn't think of anything he could have done wrong and told himself that his new superior might be excited and want to make it clear right away that he is now in authority here.

After Zhan had changed his clothes, he went to his work as usual. Into the kitchen and began to prepare breakfast for the residents. Only today he could hardly concentrate. Because his new supervisor stood in the kitchen with a clipboard and watched Zhan at work, taking notes now and then.

When Zhan finished preparing breakfast, he wanted to go to the residents and help the caretakers, as he always did. But before that, he stopped in front of his new superior and asked, "May I ask why you're watching me?"

"Carry on your work as usual. I just want to see from the background who is doing which work. It also helps me get to know the people here."

"Okay, boss." Zhan replied, not knowing what else to say and went to help the caretakers with the residents.

"Why are you helping the caretakers?" Asked Yibo as he followed Zhan into one of the rooms.

"Well, I just support them. For one thing, it's faster and I can take the residents to the kitchen to eat right away, and for another, I don't have to sit there idly and wait until the carers are ready and the residents are all sitting at the breakfast table." Explained Zhan calmly.

"So the caretakers are too slow?"

"No. I didn't say that."

"But that's what it sounded like."

"I would never say such a thing, because it's not true!"

"Do you always get angry so easily, Xiao Zhan?"

"I'm not angry. I just don't want to be misunderstood."

"Well then, go ahead." Wang Yibo replied.

Zhan nodded and turned red in the face with rage. What had he done wrong now? How could his new supervisor accuse him of such a thing? After all, he only helps the caretakers. And he does that for the residents, and that he doesn't just sit around. Which, in his eyes, would be much more worse.

Until Zhan's breakfast break Wang Yibo was not to be seen anymore and Zhan continued his work until then. Punctually at 9 am, all colleagues came together, sat down in the narrow room and were about to start breakfast, when Wang Yibo came and took a look at the funny round.

"Xiao Zhan and Zoey Meng, you started work at 8:00 AM and you' re already on a break?" He asked them both.

Zoey Meng, the social worker of group 1, stood up and bowed. "We always take breaks together." She explained.
