Yibo and Zhan sat holding hands in this registry office in Canada. Only their families were with them as they married in this small room. In that little room with its white walls, it was not a very romantic wedding. But it would be repeated later symbolically with the families, relatives and friends anyway.

When the wedding official asked Zhan if he wanted to marry Yibo, Zhan smiled and even before the official had finished speaking, Zhan said, "Gladly, yes. I will marry him."

Yibo smiled and said the same thing that Zhan said when the official also asked him. And with a signature of the two of them and their best man, the unromantic ceremony was completed in less than 20 minutes.

Together they drove back to the hotel where Zhan and Yibo changed for their wedding ceremony. Zhan wore a white wedding suit and Yibo a black one. What before was supposed to be just a funny remark was actually realized. Because after Zhan saw the white wedding suits, he found them much more beautiful than the black ones. "You are a man bride, my love." Had Yibo said when Zhan said he preferred to wear white. Zhan didn't find Yibo's remark very funny, but he still had to laugh and admit he almost felt the same way with a man like Yibo at his side.

When the two of them entered the hotel room where the wedding ceremony was to take place, Zhan and Yibo were completely overwhelmed by it. All their loved ones had been there and congratulated them cheering. Everything had been decorated in a beautiful Bordeaux. Zhan liked the idea of having everything decorated in a Bordeaux tone because they were getting married in Bordeaux. And the hotel staff really did their best to turn the hall into a beautiful room.

The Bordeaux-coloured curtains and scarves hanging from the ceiling had warm white fairy lights, flowers in white and Bordeaux and even the dishes on the tables followed the pattern. Everything was in harmony. And despite the dark colour, everything seemed bright, romantic and friendly.

But before they could move on to the wedding ceremony, the two of them got a traditional Chinese wedding ceremony, with a few small changes or adjustments. And while Zhan constantly thought he was going to spend the whole day crying for joy, it turned out quite differently. While he only shed a tear now and then and usually smiled, Yibo cried again and again.

Again and again Yibo took him in his arms and explained to him how happy he is and how happy he is that Zhan is now finally his husband. Because until a few days ago, it looked like they would have to postpone their wedding after all.

Already two weeks before the wedding the stress started when Yanli's husband suddenly showed up and asked Yanli to come back home. He told her that he had left his girlfriend because he realized that he still loved Yanli and wanted to have her and their son back home with him.

Yanli had been unsure because she confided to Zhan that she was about to fall in love with Hai Kuan. He took care of her and little Li and the two of them became closer and closer. She told Zhan that her heart would begin to flutter when she saw Hai Kuan smiling and imagined being with him.

But suddenly her husband had reappeared, the man she wanted to stay with for the rest of her life. And he not only turned her life upside down again, but that of the whole family.

Again and again he stood in front of the door, rang the bell, called Yanli and often caught her when she wanted to take Li to his new kindergarten.

Zhan and Yibo were sure that Yanli would not give in and insist on the divorce. But then they received an emotional call from Hai Kuan only 6 days before the wedding. He explained that all of Yanli's things had disappeared from the room and she had even signed Li out of the kindergarten again. They all tried to call Yanli and talk to her, ask her where she was and why she just left without saying goodbye. But nobody reached her.
