SC stands for special chapter. This chapter will not associate with the actual story line. IT IS A ONESHOT CHAPTER! ^^ and a soulmate AU! I've been wanting to write one for a while now...
—————————————————————I stared at the blank scene in front of me. My brother, laying his lips upon the woman he loves so dearly. He holds her so close to his heart. I was happy for them. I truly was.
But I would've loved to see it in color.
I smiled weakly at the newlywed couple, their eyes shined so brightly. But I couldn't tell.
My gaze fell onto the grass. I should be thankful. I'm living a life with my wonderful family. My friends are mostly bound to the ones they will love for life by now. I'm thankful for them. I'm happy that they're happy. What more could I ask for?
The wedding was in Tokyo. It is a big city, they're so many places to go to. People to see. Things to do.
I was only sixteen when Diakoku got married. It was wonderful to see the ceremony. Yet it was so heartbreaking. When could someone hold me like that? Would anyone want to look at me that way?
But all I could do was smile and press on. Only to hope for the best. There were a lot of cases known for people to never meet their soulmates. I believed I was one of them. I couldn't help but fantasize about the boy who was bound to me. The moment we would have to ourselves. Secrets that we would share. I was often caught daydreaming while at Shinobu's butterfly estate.
"Don't worry. I know plenty of people your age that hasn't seen color. I only just saw color last year." Shinobu spoke up to me.
I didn't know when I arrived at the estate. I was daydreaming once again. And here I was dangling my legs off the deck and staring off into space.
"Yes, I know." We're the only words I could think of in response.
"I bet he's looking for you as we speak. You better wait for him." She joked and punched my shoulder lightly.
My eyes widened and I leaned back "Of course! Who would like me anyway? I mean, I can't even see color." I scratched the back of my head and shyly looked down.
"Shinobu! A new pack of people came in. Two severely injured and two lightly wounded." One of the three little girls interrupted our unpleasant conversation.
"Very well. (Y/n), care to help me?" She asked. Her hand helped me up as I nodded slightly.
"I would love to! More practice for the field right?" I smiled.
Every so often one of the demon slayers residing in the estate was required to make an emergency trip for medical back up. Well, I was in training.
My brother had just recently quit his demon-slaying job to be with his new wife. I can't say that I blame him though.
I glanced at the moon once more before jumping into action.
A boy with dark hair slept in the bed his breathing ragged and the bruising and cuts along his arms were bad.
I quickly applied an ointment to help the cuts heal and he just shifts slightly. Who fights with no protection in the upper body?
I started to make my way towards the next patient when a small girl rushed past me. Bamboo resides in her mouth and her arms were spread wide to carry the large clothing behind her.
I couldn't help but stop to observe her for a little while. Not too long after. A boy rounds the counter of the hallway chasing after the girl. He looks around frantically for the tiny girl when his eyes stop on me.
"Have you seen a-" but his sentence stopped short.
My eyes widened in realization. His eyes were red. So was his hair. His haori was black and green and the walls were brown. The sky was a dark navy blue. But the clouds remained white. Somehow I was slightly disappointed they weren't a light purple but that didn't matter.
"You. What's your name?" I breathlessly spoke. We didn't even blink. All we could do was just stare.
"Tanjiro Kamado. What about you?" He smiled softly.
"(Y/n) (L/n)" we continued to stare until I remembered the tiny girl. "Oh I'm sorry, I'm probably keeping you from finding your friend. She was the small girl with the bamboo in her mouth right?"
"She's my sister. Her name is Nezuko. We actually came here with my friends but they're already passed out." He chuckled. It was like music to my ears.
'I've waited for you. For so long.' I wanted to say. Nezuko's little head peeked around the corner when she heard the sudden silence throughout the air.
She had beautiful pink eyes and who would've thought that bamboo was actually green and not blue? I couldn't help but smile. "Oh goodness, Tanjiro, you're injured! Why are you running around like that?" Aoi came from the other room holding a soup ladle. Like she was threatening to hit him with it if he didn't get back into bed.
"You know him?" I asked her. She stared at me with a strange expression before nodding annoyingly.
"He was here at the estate a couple of more times, but you were always out with Shinobu on missions. I'm actually surprised you haven't met him. He's the one with the demon sister." She mentioned. Aoi had blue beautiful eyes and her hair was a Normal black.
Before I knew it, tears started to roll down my face and only Tanjiro knew why.
Shinobu rounded the counter holding a new set of clean clothes but dropped them when she saw her dear friend crying. Within a second, she was by my side wiping away my tears.
"Shinobu." I choked out. "You're so pretty!"
"What?" She asked, confused. It only took her a couple of seconds before it registered in all of the girl's minds that she could see color.
All three of them looked at the burgundy boy with wide eyes.
"You...you're-" Aoi started. She dropped the ladle in her hand as the surprising scene.
"Her soulmate?" Shinobu couldn't help but smile and draw her friend in close for a hug. "And your crying cause you can see color?! I told you didn't I?" She nagged at me.
"HMPH HMPH!" Nezuko jumped on to her brother in happiness and he went tumbling down. I laughed at all of their reactions and finally wiped my last tear away. I offered a hand to the handsome boy on the floor and he thankfully took it.
"It's nice to finally meet you Tanjiro Kamado."
