The calm before the storm lasted for about a half minute.
"James, if you tell them, you will regret it"-Emmy threatened the guy.
"What are you going to do?"-he raised an eyebrow-"Kill me?"
"I knew it!"-Logan yelled-"When Leah said she had to help Emmy kill a spider, I knew it was bullshit. They killed a hum..."
"Shut up!"-Leah interrupted him and turned to Emmy-"How could you tell James? When I told you to open up, I didn't expect you to share your life story."
"I was lonely, plus James was looking at me so dependably, it just slipped out"-Emmy apologised-"And don't you dare blame me! You told everyone else through a pretty obvious story."
"I actually thought it was a spider..."-Carlos commented.
"Calm down!"-Kendall stood up-"I know everyone's mad at everyone at the moment, but we can figure something out. Which doesn't involve calling the police."
"Thank God!"-Leah sighed.
"But we can't act like all of this didn't happen"-Kendall added-"You lied to us about killing somebody, which is kind of crazy, to say the least. But you don't seem like psychopaths, so I guess you had a good reason."
"Would you like sharing it instead of me?"-Emmy glared at James-"Since you're in the mood of spilling my secrets."
"I didn't know what else to do, it was too shocking. I had no bad intentions."
"Yeah, right"-Emmy crossed her arms-"Leah, tell them. I need some alone time right now."With that, she left her best friend alone with Big Time Rush. And Leah told them everything.
"Now I get why Emmy's so distant"-Carlos nodded-"But what about you? How do you remain so calm after everything that's happened?"
"When I'm hanging out with you, I forget about it for a while, but as soon as I hit the bed, the flashbacks start haunting me"-Leah explained.
"Then let's hang out more"-Logan stated-"How about a date?"
"Here we go again"-Kendall mumbled.
"I'm in"-Leah smiled.
"Just like that?"-James asked in disbelief-"Wow, Logan, you're a lucky guy. I couldn't ask Emmy out even if I died trying. She kinda hates me."
"She hates all of us"-Carlos shrugged.
"I don't think so"-Leah shook her head-"It will take her time, but she'll like you. In case you don't tell anyone about what we did."
"Our lips are sealed"-Kendall said-"Friends don't betray each other."
"Real friends"-Leah corrected him-"Some people who we thought were our friends proved us wrong."Leah stayed for a couple more hours, then went home.
"Emmy, are you awake?"-she shouted. No answer.
Leah noticed that the bathroom door was slightly open, so she assumed Emmy wasn't in there. But as soon as she saw that her friend's bed was empty as well, she panicked.
"Where is she? I'll call her."
To Leah's biggest surprise, the phone began ringing right next to her.
"Strange. Emmy always takes her phone with her. But what if..."-she covered her mouth-"No, no, no! They couldn't have kidnapped her, could they?"
The girl immediately hurried to the reception desk.
"Mr. Bitters, have you seen my friend? Short, blonde, scares everyone..."
"She left about two hours ago"-the receptionist answered-"I think she went out for a ride, because I heard a motorbike drive away. She hasn't returned yet."
"Thank you"-Leah let out a breath of relief, and she was about to return to her apartment, when she felt someone's eyes on her. She turned into the entrance's direction, however, she didn't see anyone through the glass door. I must be imagining things, she thought, but she didn't manage to convince herself.
"I'll go to the parking lot to check if Emmy has returned"-Leah lied and made her way to the entrance. After a little self encouragement, she pulled the door and stepped out into the fresh air."Hello?"-her voice echoed in the night. She looked around and again, she saw nobody.
"I guess I'll go back then"-she decided after a few minutes of waiting.
"Not so fast"-she heard a familiar voice from behind, but before she could react, she got hit in the head and fell unconscious.*Meanwhile*
Emmy didn't plan on going for a ride, her heart led her to her motorbike, as if it was telling her to get away from everything and everyone. As soon as she started the engine, she knew she was doing the right thing. She drove out of the parking lot and a few turns later, she found herself on the main road, overtaking almost every vehicle.
"Go slower, damn it!"
"Biker bitch!"
"Show your speed somewhere else!"Emmy was used to these kinds of comments, which she recieved even while driving at a normal speed. So she raised her hand and instead of showing her middle finger, she put her index finger up as well, as in a sign of peace. The drivers didn't really appriciate it, though. One of them even used it and crashed into her. Emmy fell from the bike to the stone hard sidewalk.
"Fuck!"-she cursed, but her voice was barely above a whisper. Before everything in front of her eyes went black, she could see the number plate. It was George's old car.
The next morning, Emmy woke up in a hospital. Her left leg was in a plaster, her whole body was full of cuts and bruises, and she had a terrible headache.
"Ah, you're awake"-a nurse walked into the room-"How are you feeling?"
"Every part of my body hurts. That can't be good, right?"
"You're actually very lucky, Miss Stone. You only broke a leg and hit your head a bit strongly"-the nurse calmed her-"You can find your breakfast and all your medicines on the nightstand next to you."
"Thank you"-Emmy reached for the tray.
"By the way, your friends are here to see you. Can I let them in?"
"Yeah, I need to talk to them."The nurse opened the door and Big Time Rush came in.
"Hi"-Emmy greeted them, before taking a bite into her sandwich.
"I'll leave you alone"-the nurse left.
"Before you say anything, I'd like to apologise for last night. I overreacted and look where it led me"-Emmy pointed at her broken leg.
"It's not your fault, James was the one who wanted to tell us your secret"-Carlos waved his hand.
"Thanks for reminding me, dude, I already feel bad enough"-James rolled his eyes-"Emmy, I know it's not going to fix anything, but I bought you flowers and chocolate as an apology gift."
"I'm accepting the gifts and your apology only because I'm too tired to argue right now"-Emmy lowered her voice-"Plus I owe you for not calling the police on me."
"Okay, now that everyone's made peace, we have to tell Emmy the bad news"-Kendall spoke.
"Are you sure now is the right time?"-Logan questioned-"I think she's had enough of bad news lately."
"You know I can hear you, right?"-Emmy furrowed her eyebrows-"Tell me what it is. Now."
"Leah's missing"-Carlos glanced at his shoes-"We're pretty sure she was kidnapped."
"WHAT?!"-Emmy wanted to jump up from the bed, but James stopped her-"Let go of me!"
"Not until you calm down. You should rest."
"How am I supposed to rest knowing my best friend's in danger?"-Emmy leaned back and closed her eyes-"It's all my fault."
