*Emmy's POV*

Until that day, my life was going uphill, but of course, something -or someone- had to ruin it. I was humiliated in front of the whole Palmwoods, a place that started to feel like home, because of an icident I thought I had escaped from. But I realised that it would follow me everywhere for the rest of my life...

On my first night in jail, I had a mental breakdown, but nobody was there for me. The police officers treated me like trash, like I wasn't human at all, and the inmates didn't give a shit about me. And everyone I loved was outside, living their lives, as if nothing had happened. At least, that's how I felt.
I had to spend a year at that hellhole, so I had to find a way to survive, which was to fit in. But how do you become friends with a bunch of prisoners, who have done more horrible things than anyone can imagine? The least I could do was not to offend them, although it took me a lot of strength not to punch some of them.

The only person who made my days a little bit brighter was Leah. After she started university, she became pretty busy, but she always found time for me and visited me at least twice a week. I was very thankful for her for that, however, a little part of me was hoping for my parents and the guys to come. Leah kept telling me they would, but they never did, and after a while, I accepted that. And finally, one gruelling year later, a nineteen year old me stepped out into freedom and it felt unbelievable. I couldn't decide if the sunlight blinded me or the tears of joy, but I didn't really care, when Leah ran to me.

"Emmy! You're finally free!"
"I am"-I hugged her-"And I'm not going anywhere ever again."
"How are you feeling?"-she asked me, while we made our way to her Harley.
"It's hard to explain, but it's definetely the best I've felt in a long time."
"Wait till you see the guys. They haven't changed a bit, and they've missed you so much"-she put on her helmet and handed me mine.
"Then why didn't they come at least once to visit?"-I took my helmet-"I thought they had forgotten about me."
"After they came back from tour, they became five times more famous than they were before, so the media started following them everywhere. And if they had come here to visit you, not only their reputations would've been ruined, but yours"-Leah explained.
"Mine was already ruined by Tyler"-I waved my hand-"If he hadn't given me up to the cops, I would have had an opportunity for a stable future, but since no college wants a criminal, I'm screwed."
"We'll figure something out, just like we always do"-Leah patted the seat behind her-"Let's go home."

Just like that, I left the place which has caused me so much misery, and arrived back to where it all started.

"Look who's back"-Mr. Bitters greeted me sarcastically.
"Look who hasn't changed a bit. My favourite receptionist."
"Emmy"-Leah grabbed my arm-"You don't need trouble on your first day back, let's go and meet the guys."
"Okay, but one more thing"-I turned back to the receptionist-"Has Tyler moved back, by any chance? You know, the guy who gave me up to the police."
"No, I haven't seen him since then. Anything else?"
"No, that's all, Mr. Bitters. Have a nice day!"

Leah and I got in the elevator, and we didn't stop talking until we reached the guys' apartment.

"Are you ready?"-Leah glanced at me.
"I am"-I sighed, then knocked on their door.

To my biggest surprise, a black haired girl opened the door. At first sight, she seemed nice, but I felt that something was off about her.

"Leah, hi"-she spoke-"Who's your friend?"
"She's Emmy, the one we told you about."
"The criminal?"

I hated that word.

"Yes, the criminal"-I crossed my arms-"And who are you?"
"I'm Nicole, but most people know me as James Diamond's girlfriend"-she giggled.
"His what?"-I blinked, processing the meaning of her words.
"Our story is crazy, actually"-Nicole's eyes lit up-"I was just a fan of him and we met at one of his concerts, and I knew it was love at first sight."
"So you've been going out since then?"-my mouth fell open.
"No, at first we only texted each other, since I lived in New York, but after I moved here, we immediately became a thing."
"I see"-I nodded.
"Babe, who are you talking to?"-James appeared next to her, then froze-"Emmy?"
