From that day, Tyler was a part of the group, although Emmy ignored him most of the time, and James couldn't stand him at all.
"What the hell is your problem?"-Tyler asked James one day-"I already apologised for what I did to Emmy."
"I don't trust you"-James crossed his arms-"This whole 'I have changed' thing sounds like bullshit to me. And the more you try to prove yourself to everyone, the less I believe you. I know you have bad intentions."
"You don't know shit"-Tyler spat-"I'm actually trying to be a better person, you're just jealous that your friends like me as much as they like you, and that I have more chance to be with Emmy than you'll ever have."
"What?"
"You heard me, Hollywood. She likes bad boys, not 'cute' guys like you."James laughed in disbelief.
"You think she'll get together with you after you almost killed her and even tried to make her kill herself? You're seriously messed up, Tyler. That's why I won't let you have her."
"What's going on in here?"-Emmy walked into the hall-"You weren't fighting, were you?"
"Not at all"-James lied-"By the way, I wanted to show you something. Follow me."He lead Emmy to the parking lot. The girl's face lit up, as she noticed her Harley, looking as new as ever.
"It got pretty damaged in the accident, so I had it repaired"-James lowered his voice-"Since a certain someone didn't do anything."
"I thought I'd never see it again. Thank you"-Emmy hugged him-"I could kiss you right now, but I won't."
"Ouch. I thought this gesture would change your mind."
"James, I told you a thousand times that I don't plan on dating anyone for a while and you know exactly why. Plus I'd rather we just stayed friends."
"So you consider me your friend now. What an honour"-James scoffed-"At least you don't hate me anymore."
"I never really hated you"-Emmy confessed-"Even when I slapped you the first time we met."
"That wasn't very nice of you. Imagine what my fans would've thought, if you had given me a blackeye, for example. Sometimes being this handsome can be dangerous"-James sighed.
"You're an idiot"-Emmy hit his arm-"I gotta go now, I need to talk to Tyler."She was about to turn, when James stopped her.
"Be careful with him, I don't want you to get hurt again."
"Relax, we're just going to talk. Plus I always have pepper spray with me, just in case."
"But you're not going to talk in the bedroom, right?"-James raised his eyebrow.
"Yes, we are, because I have to show him something private."Seeing James' expression, she added:
"I didn't mean anything sexual, okay? It's just... I know it's going to sound weird, but I kept my sister's diary. And maybe if I show it to Tyler and we talk about our differences, we could make peace."
James nodded.
"Okay, but if he tries anything..."
"Stop it, you're acting like my dad!"-Emmy chukled-"I'll be fine."With that, she left James in the parking lot and went up to her apartment, accompanied by Tyler.
"I don't like surprises"-Tyler shook his head-"What do you want to show me? Should I be afraid?"
"Just sit and wait, I'll be right back"-the girl disappeared in the living room and came back with a diary-"Do you know what this is?"
"Hannah had a similar diary"-Tyler jumped up-"Is it hers?"
"Of course it is. I think you deserve to know how she felt about you."
"But isn't it rude to read a dead girl's diary?"
"You were her boyfriend, I bet she would've wanted you to know all of this"-Emmy handed him the object-"Here."Tyler carefully took the diary from her and opened it. He smiled at the first few pages, which were filled with a younger Hannah's thoughts, but the further he got, the more painful it became to read. Emmy didn't dare to speak until he placed the diary on the coffee table.
"I've read it about a million times, but I always end up crying. I know how you must be feeling right now."
"She loved me"-Tyler whispered-"And I never got to tell her I loved her back."
"Everyone knew you did, Tyler"-Emmy reassured him-"Some of us were just thinking you weren't good enough for her."
"Because I wasn't. I should've protected her from George."
"No, it was me who should've protected her"-Emmy argued-"I got involved with George, even though everyone warned me about him, and look where it lead... My sister's dead because of me."
"It's easier to blame you, that's what I did, too. But George was the messed up one, who should've never gone after Hannah. It's not your fault, Emmy"-Tyler said, then looked away-"I'm glad you and Leah killed George. I was planning on doing it, but I couldn't figure out a plan."
"We didn't intend on killing him, but maybe it was the right thing to do. He would've also raped Leah, if we hadn't stopped him."They sat in silence for a few minutes, buried in their thoughts.
"You know"-Tyler broke the silence-"We have more in common than we thought. We were both betrayed by someone we thought we could trust and we both lost someone special."
"They do say that grief brings people together..."*Meanwhile at the guys' apartment*
"Guys, we didn't come here to watch you make out. Again"-Kendall rolled his eyes.
"Maybe they called us here to tell us that Leah's pregnant"-Carlos shrugged.Leah angrily let go of Logan and tossed a pillow at Carlos.
"Not that it's any of your businness, but we never had... you know what. And I called you here to talk to you about something important."
"Which is...?"-Logan questioned.
"When we left Vegas, we told our parents that we were going on a road trip, since this is our last summer before university"-Leah explained-"But you know we had to escape from the police, because they're looking for George's killer. If we're lucky, they won't find us until the end of August and they will close the case. Because then, we'll have to go home."
"For good?"-Carlos' eyes widened.
"No, I will come back in September, because I'm going to UCLA, but Emmy... I don't know. But please don't tell James, he has to hear it from Emmy."
"Hey!"-the mentioned boy arrived-"Guess who got friendzoned again?"
"I'm sorry, dude"-Kendall patted his shoulder-"Maybe you should consider moving on. You've been rejected by Emmy too many times."
"I told you she's going to be mine and I'm not giving up"-James stated.
"But what if she leaves?"-Carlos suggested, but immediately corrected himself, as he saw the murderous glances coming at him-"Because of another guy."
"Emmy just told me that she's not planning on dating for a while, I don't think there's anyone who can change her mind"-James waved his hand.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that"-Leah smiled mysteriously.
"It's Tyler, isn't it?"-James' voice was filled with disappointment.
"No offence, but how can you be so dumb?"-Logan blinked-"Leah was obviously reffering to you."
"That makes no sense"-Kendall furrowed his eyebrows-"If she likes him, then why does she reject him all the time? Or is she just playing hard to get? Leah, your best friend is confusing."
"Tell me about it."
"I think I'm lucky with Leah, she's at least straightforward"-Logan put his arm around her-"By the way, you still haven't told me what you really did to George."
"I did"-Leah reminded him-"Emmy accidentally hit him in the head, so I also hit him, so she wouldn't feel guilty."
"We want the dirty details"-Carlos demanded-"But you don't have to tell us, if you feel uncomfortable."Leah closed her eyes for a second and the flashbacks immediately started coming. But did she want to share it with her friends? She swore to never talk about it to anyone, but so many things have changed since then.
"Sit down, guys. You're going to need it..."
