One week passed and the party of the year, aka Carlos' birthday arrived.

"I can't believe you're twenty"-Emmy shook her head-"You act like you're five."
"What are you talking about?"-Carlos argued, trying to get a carrot (?) out of his nostril.
"He's always been like this"-Kendall waved his hand-"Some things never change."
"Just like his horrible taste in music"-James opened his laptop-"I had to download some weird German song sang by a bunch of Indonesians."
"The Ich komme aus Bonn Jakarta version is the best"-Carlos stated-"It's the highlight of the party."
"I love it so much!"-Leah cheered-"But we seriously need normal songs."
"How about Big Time Rush?"-Logan suggested.
"I put the whole album on the playlist"-James answered-"Any more requests?"
"Maybe you could download The Harley Davidson Story's theme song"-Emmy shrugged-"We used to dance to that a lot back in Vegas."
"That 'wroom' sound in the beginning..."-Leah put her hand on her heart.
"Is it as sexy as my voice?"-Logan winked.
"No offence, dude, but you sound like a Disney princess when you're singing"-Kendall joked.
"Make my wish come truhuhu"-James imitated Logan's voice.
"Stop it, you're not funny!"-Logan crossed his arms-"The fans think it's cute."
"I also think it's cute"-Leah defended her boyfriend.
"Look, Leah's defending her princess!"-Carlos gasped.
"It's gonna be a long day..."-Emmy sipped from her shake.

The rest of the day was spent with decorating the apartment, shopping for food and drinks, inviting the whole Palmwoods and so on...

"Tell me! Tell me!"-Carlos begged Emmy, while she was making cocktails.
"Your present is a surprise, you'll find out what it is in just a few hours."
"Will you and James finally get together? That would honestly make me happier than seeing you two suffer all the time."

Emmy glanced at James, who was sitting on the sofa with headphones on, mixing the playlist.

"We haven't spoken in a week"-Emmy sighed-"I think he hates me and wants nothing to do with me anymore."
"Why don't you try talking to him? Just look at how miserable he looks"-Carlos pointed at his friend.
"I'm pretty sure he's making that face because of the playlist"-Emmy forced back a smile.
"I only asked him to download Barbie Girl in ten different languages. Is that such a sin?"
"The cake is done"-Leah walked to them-"I put it in the freezer. And Carlos, before you ask, you can't eat it or even look at it until the party starts."
"Rude. Okay, I didn't mean that."
"Of course you didn't"-Leah dodged his arm-"Emmy, let's go, we need to get ready."
"I just finished making the cocktails, anyway. Don't drink them or try to experiment with them!"-Emmy shot a warning glare at Logan.
"I just wanted to see the reaction between..."
"Leah, shut him up!"-Kendall yelled, and the girl kissed Logan.
"Enough, lovebirds"-Emmy seperated them after a few seconds-"We need to get ready, remember?"
"Yeah"-Leah nodded-"See you later, guys!"

The girls went back to their apartment, where they got ready to their favourite songs, just like in the movies.

"Emmy, don't you think that dress shows a little too much? Ouch, my eye!"
"You're doing the mascara the wrong way. Yeah, that's much better. You're right, I'll change, I look like a bitch."
"I didn't say that."
"But you meant it."
"Do. Not. Change. We don't have time!"
"We've got half an hour, Leah, chill. I'll be right back."
"Wait! I think I just blinded myself."

And exactly half an hour later, the girls knocked on the guys' apartment's door.

"Hey, you look amazing"-James greeted them and stared at Emmy for a little bit longer-"Come in."
"The other guests are coming later, right?"-Leah questioned.
"Yeah, why do you ask?"-James raised an eyebrow.
"Because Logan and I'd like to have a little privacy before the party goes out of control."
"Who would've thought?"-Emmy rolled her eyes-"Go and find your man. I... I'll check the cake."
"I'll come with you"-James followed her.

Leah, seeing that, smiled, then went over to her boyfriend, who was sitting on the sofa with two cocktails in his hands.

"I didn't experiment with them"-he said, handing one glass to her.
"I'm pretty sure they weren't this colour in the afternoon"-Leah chuckled.
"Don't tell Emmy!"-Logan whispered-"She'll kill me."
"She won't. Cheers to that!"

The moment Leah tasted the drink, she almost spat it.

"Ew, what did you put into this?"
"Trust me, you don't want to know"-Logan lowered his eyes-"Mine's actually good. Wanna try it?"
"Please."

They chatted and drank for a while, and when all the guests arrived, they toasted Carlos.

"Dios mio!"-his mouth fell open, when Leah brought in the cake-"You made me a Carlos marzipan?"
"I ordered it from a Chinese webshop, actually. But the cake is all my work."
"And mine"-Emmy added-"I watched it."
"Thank you, girls"-Carlos put his arms around them-"And now... GIMME THE PRESENTS!"

Needless to say: Carlos got so many presents that he could build a tower from them, and that's how he spent the rest of the night, watched by her girlfriend, Savannah. Logan and Leah were busy with each other (as always), Kendall tried to flirt with the new girl, and Emmy and James...

"What are you doing?"-James appeared next to Emmy.
"Jeez, you scared me! I was just trying the food to see if Kendall didn't buy anything expired"-Emmy explained.
"I have a better idea"-James took the chips out of her hand-"Follow me."

In matter of minutes, they were on the roof again, just like the first time Emmy opened up to James.

"It looks better at night, doesn't it?"-James asked.
"It does. They say everything is more inspiring at night, so you can write your songs with this background."
"I didn't come here to write songs. I wanna talk about what happened last week."

Emmy took a deep breath.

"I noticed that you were already trying to at the party, but I didn't want to do it in the middle of the chaos, that's why I changed the subject all the time."
"That's why I brought you here. So..."
"I'm sorry"-Emmy interrupted him-"I'm sorry if I made you feel like I was leading you on. I didn't mean to. And what I said about not wanting a boyfriend... it was true until I kissed Tyler and realised..."
"That you like him?"-James scoffed.
"Let me finish. I realised that I like you. I was just afraid to jump into a relationship right after being betrayed by George."
"I get it now"-James turned to her-"I also owe you an apology. I shouldn't have said those things to you, I regretted saying them right away. I was just jealous and mad."
"Everthing you said to me was true. About me needing a saviour and so on"-Emmy looked away-"I felt helpless... until I came here and met you and the guys."
"I'm glad to hear that. So we're good?"
"Of course we are."

They finally hugged again after a long week. But something was different about this hug and both of them could feel it.

"We should go back inside"-Emmy let go of him-"It's getting cold."
"I would give you my shirt, but it would be weird to stand half naked on a roof"-James then glanced at Emmy's lips-"But I have another way to keep you warm."

Before Emmy could reply, James kissed her, the way he should've done a long time ago (but the writer was cruel). After they finished their makeout session, Emmy spoke.

"I guess Carlos got what he wanted."
"He was nagging me about this, too. But at last we made his wish come truhuhu"-James sang.
"Oh God, I already regret this"-Emmy laughed.
"Let me change your mind"-James leaned forward to kiss her again.
"We can continue this inside, I'm seriously freezing. Or do you want to kiss an ice statue?"
"Duh, it's on top of my bucket list."

They went back inside, hand in hand, but before they could disappear in the middle of the party again, Tyler stopped them.

"I see you've figured things out."
"Not that it's any of your businness, but we have"-James pulled Emmy closer to himself-"I told you she was going to be mine."
"Congrats"-Tyler clapped ironically-"But all good things come to an end, am I right, Emmy?"
"Leave whatever happened in Vegas out of this. What the hell is your problem?"-Emmy furrowed her eyebrows.
"He's jealous, can't you see?"-James grinned-"He told me you would never date me and I proved him wrong."
"Keep talking, Hollywood, and I'll wipe that grin off your face"-Tyler said through gritted teeth.
"No fighting, guys!"-Emmy stepped between them-"Tyler, it's better if you just keep your distance from us, if you don't have anything nice to say."
"Good thing I'm moving out tomorrow-"Tyler stormed past them-"You'll hear from me very soon..."
